Thank you, that’s extremely helpful. One of my questions was about the last feedback he received on a vpin not being positive, which may have been you.

I asked for some videos of various things working that he hadn’t shown in the videos he posted and for some photos of the back, bottom and several of the inside of the cab and a photo showing the pc system specs so I knew they were as listed. Think he just thought I was too much hassle and gave up lol.

thanks so much for sharing your experience with that seller, would have helped me make the decision if he hadn’t pulled the listing
you are welcome ,good luck in your pin hunt.It is always worth asking on here if you dont know a seller is legit ,often they are but sometimes there are some ads which just dont ring true .

Virtual Pinball WPC 4K build

Thanks, I exchanged a few dms with @Pick Holder a while ago but I wasn’t sure on what I wanted at the time and had zero knowledge of vpins so our conversation kinda tapered off. I may pester him again soon if he can bear it! Lol. I’m not sure if the graphics card situation right now will mean a new 4K build just isn’t viable atm.

I know they’re not for everyone but in the meantime I picked up an old vpin, just to see what I thought and even though it needs updating (never had software updates) and repairs it’s really increased my interest in getting a top spec one. It might end up that I try to get this one upgraded instead but that’d be a lot of work and I’d still have the gpu issue if I wanted 4K over 1080p

Hurricane on the Bay, currently £510. Will be interesting to see where a lower-end wpc finishes in the current market.

Not much love for these now. But when it was alongside contemporary games like bad cats, checkpoint, LW3, DE Turtles, BoP, T2 .... they held their own imho.

Ball falling off the ramp in the video ? Faulty backbox spinner

What's wrong with Bad Cats!

Nowt wrong with a bad cats. The University of London Union bar always had 2 pinballs in the early 90s. Bad Cats and Checkpoint then onto Phantom, Turtles, LW3, Hurricane ....

I think some folk compare the likes of Hurricane to TAF or MM or TOM, but back in 1991 it was competing for your coin with much more basic stuff.

The time wasted leaving Senate House library, bit of a walk, maybe another pound .....

any pinball machine was an attractive proposition compared to the sterility of Senate House Library.

funhouse £1.5k on ebay
And pulled.... so someone made him an offer. Last time around it didn't appear obviously shilled so I'm presuming someone offered strong money.

Hurricane on fleabay. Currently at £520. Apparently one of, if not *the* best pin ever !

"and there is even a revolving backglass wheel".
Erm, that apparently doesn't revolve as described further up in the listing..
Not that I don't like my Hurricane - but hyperbole isn't my thing...
PS this isn't my listing /machine!

(And I love the way the ball falls off the loop after the Ferris wheel in the vid - and not one ramp shot!)

I use OS X on a Mac, using the m. makes it look like your above pic. Without it and it's fine. I was on about chopping off everything after the item numbers. The bazillions of 2's & %'s. :)

Hot Line went for £1,270 on eBay. Whatever anyone thinks about the price some EMs are going for at the moment, that is one lovely looking machine. Was very tempted myself.

Wise words Alan.
Everyone should have a EM in there collection.
Finding the right one....that's the challenge. The Hot Line got a bit hot pricey for me at the end last night. May have to pick up a non-worker and learn from there.

Everyone should have an EM in their collection to help them have a lot less time to play their collection :)

Love EM don’t want the agro of maintenance which can be heavy.

I found EM’s simple to fix but there are no short cuts like swapping in a new board. But a lot less to trace and work out and few black box areas.

I've had a couple of EMs and to me they're a lot less complicated than electronic. And maybe I've been lucky but reliability not too much of an issue either.

Had my Hi Deal for nearly 9 years. It's done over 7000 games for me. Here's an early photo of the clock compared to a recent one.

46 years and 86,000 games!!! They made them to last.
