there is no reason for disruption. Is there a company that takes over all the procedure from the beginning to the end and guarantee that everything goes well?

Not that my good friend Andy will see this because he's muted me but I've owned 13 machines in the 3 years I've been in this hobby and I've only ever gone to see 3 before buying, some were shipped unseen from overseas and besides a shipping issue which did get resolved I've never ever had any problems. Perhaps that makes me "stupid"

Slandering somebody's for sale ad just because in your opinion shipping unseen from another country is the most dangerous thing you could ever do is completely rediculous!

Best of luck with the sale it sure looks like a nice machine

I am 66 yrs old and have never been scammed yet.

Sorry not being ageist i just couldn't help myself. 😁

Good luck with the sale OP machines look sweet. Like others have said I wish I had 9k floating about!

You are a stranger to me - You have the Same "Kudos" as our friend in Greece... So not sure where you are coming from there?
There are several BIG differences...1) Being in the UK you can easily check the merchandise / meet me etc. 2) Payment methods refunds in the UK are easier and more secure. 3) It is easier cheaper and more reliable to ship (we all KNOW Martin and he is reliable) 4) If things go wrong, you can always use the County Court to reclaim your money/ OK not perfect but a better chance than no chance. 5) We have the benefit of this forum and feedback etc. Pretty good reasons I think dont you?

Rather than hijack the OP’s thread, why not start a new thread for you to have a rant on? You should afford them that courtesy

The Guy does have a point! Anybody who buys a machine from a complete stranger in another country miles away is clearly taking a helluva risk. the pics can be fake or machine delivered is not the one advertised. Shipping in UK was bad enogh before the likes of Martin. Who knows what will happen to it and if it is damaged what then?
Yes it may turn out fine but when it does not, what a nightmare. Nobody on this thread seems to appreciate that?

How am I either "hi-jacking" the thread or ranting? please explain. Like many others on this site I am making comment about an advert. Just like people do and take the **** out of people advertising on eBay in the UK . For example, Just take a look at the disparaging comments relating to the Dracula pin that was unsold yesterday! Please explain just what the difference is between those comments and the ones I am making are?

Lets break those down...

1) Being in the UK you can easily check the merchandise / meet me etc. - Easier, granted.. however a fair few are not in that position and the number of issues we fortunately see are minimal. Look how busy Martin is... that just shows how many people buy sight unseen.
2) Payment methods refunds in the UK are easier and more secure - Not Really.. I can send payments around the world with protection. Or there's Escrow services.
3) It is easier cheaper and more reliable to ship (we all KNOW Martin and he is reliable) - Fair point - however if you want something at a reasonable price then currently people will and do shop around. Prices have gone mental and market re-adjustment needs to take place.
4) If things go wrong, you can always use the County Court to reclaim your money/ OK not perfect but a better chance than no chance - I know people that have won and people that have lost. Horses for courses.
5) We have the benefit of this forum and feedback etc - Comfort blanket i know, however as i said, i know you as well as i know @ababapanos. Have you sold anything here? Do i know you are any more reliable than him/her??

So... Everyone is equal unless they demonstrate to others they are to be trusted, or until you meet them. Personally if it was me and i was looking at all three i'd be looking at a road trip, however that's just down to personal preference... (and the fact i can drive for miles and miles!). Yes it is easier to purchase in the UK. However it can be just as risky from anyone you havent met.

Anyhow, im now derailing the thread. Good luck with the sale OP :)

That sounds like a plan :). To the OP, good luck with your sales.... hope you can manage it through the noise.

I find this forum really helpful and informative, however, in one respect it compares VERY POORLY in comparison to the various other (musical instrument etc) forums I use - and that is with regard to the way some folk on this forum seem to think it's okay to make detrimental comments on someone else's 'for sale' thread - often uninformed, inaccurate, unnecessary, patronising, subjective.

Pinball is a very niche interest. This forum is one of the best opportunities that sellers of pins have - and not just local sellers in the UK. Therefore it's a damaging loss of that opportunity when legitimate sellers have their threads (and their forum reputation) attacked for no reason.

And there are probably many resources on the Internet which give generalist advice on best practices for international trade in fragile items.

I really wish some members would have some respect and stop and think before posting.

@Paul , @Sgt GrizZ would it be possible to add a "buyer/seller feedback" score to everyone's profile, or encourage feedback threads and prohibit certain types of comment on for sale threads?

We often use pallets for deliveries as no one wants to come further north than Aberdeen ?
Most of the time it’s been ok but this was done at the national hub 😖!
I would have trusted having a pinball delivered by pallat in the past but not anymore unless it was packed really really well but still not convinced that it would be 100% safe !

For the reason why I read a lot about me that I may joke or anything else. As it is Summer and Corfu is a beautiful island with beautiful sea, anyone who wants, can come for one- two days to see them close and get them.

Jesus wept that escalated quickly!

As John said before we have both bought from Europe before hassle free and my spider sense isn't tingling with this advert.

GLWS.

This is just crazy, where’s the Trojan horse!
Good luck with the sale very tempting.

I might be providing:
1) For all 4 games and games are described in slightly more detail (we can agree on what) - for instance, FT doesn't have many detailed photos and clearly missing topper case
2) seller includes shipping in the cost
3) we use escrow (ie, something like Escrow.com or similar)
4) if machines aren't anything like described on receipt, escrow will fail and seller needs to ship back at their cost
5) if machines have minor issues that can be sorted out directly without number 4
