Can I ask what is the appeal of the pac-man pin? I've found one at half the league meets I've been to this year and I always find it very mediocre. The maze in the middle playfield is kind of cool for about 2 or 3 games but that's about it, however a lot of people seem to have one in their collection. Is there something about it I'm missing? Good cheap game? space filler? Some sort of amazing Wizard mode I've yet to come across?...:D
i dunno, there's something about it (probably the theme) that means whenever i see one it puts a smile on my face. ok for one game only, and it's at a show where i'm working my way along a huge line of pins (oh the pleasure of pin shows, i can taste it now).

six hundred quid and not working still seems steep to me though, i think it's worth no more than that in fully working order and nice and shiny

Look at this on eBay
Unidessa / Cirsa / Williams Pinbot Pinball Machine For Spares

£95 start price project missing quite a lot, moonraker?

That Cactus Canyon won't be around for very long. It looks quite tatty but even at £6k it'll be gone quick. Really wish I had the money for it.

as a kit the underside playfield isn't compatable with Williams and the coils transformer etc will be cirsa spec. Im bidding as my pinbot has damaged ramps and plastics. If I win I will not need the actual cabinet so will be FREE for someone to collect . something tells me however that this will go half the price of a tidy working machine . that seems to be the way on eBay at the moment.

This is just down the road from me (As long as its Frome Somerset) if anyone wants it checked out.

Cheers Tony

is a cc worth that much ?

Only if someone will pay that much, then it is :)

I always find it a bit of an oddity, it is a good fun game but the fact the code is only about 95% complete means if you are having a really good game and you make the Wizard mode it is a huge letdown. It's expensive because it has a comparitively low run and it is the last 'traditional' pin to be made by Bally/Williams so it will fetch higher prices. I think this game becomes much better with the Continued code in it which most owners seem to do, its practically mandatory.

it was sidelined by pinball 2000. at ATEI it sat forlorn unloved in the corner whilst rfm had queues. shortly after deith leisure had boxed cc and mb sat unsold nib at 1k and in the end they got sent to Germany. year later williams were dead . sad strange times

Whereas now a RFM is anywhere from £1000-2000 depending on condition, whereas MB is £3800-5000 and CC is £5000-7000 I'd guess.

the game is nothing special but was always going to start to be a collectable due to the theme. in the late 80s you tried to avoid them as impossible to sell on at the time.

A local operator let me raid one for spare parts as early as (AIR) 1986. Also discarded in their back yard were two 70's Gottliebs, Solar Ride and Abracadabra.

M&M Pac-Man featured a skill shot that I found totally unmatched to the 'video game crossover' target audience - you're supposed to drop the ball into the right side saucer from above, putting you straight into the maze with 10 moves. One of the nastiest skill shots I've ever encountered (I only recall managing it once).

Re. the Unidesa Pin-Bot; the plastic 'Vortex' moulding doesn't ( or didn't on the one I saw) have the anti roll-back wires on the two lower holes, so missing the centre 100k shot sees the ball roll right back off the Vortex altogether.

That Fish Tales is basically just firewood. Same with his LW3. How delusional does a person have to be to think a scrap LW3 is worth 1k lol :cuckoo:

someone has been hunting in their warehouse

very rare in the UK , only time I saw one was at POA 1988 when Associated Leisure kindly donated 7 dead machines ( including one of these) to support the event , which Bob Thomson got mostly working during the set up day and were dutch auctioned on the Saturday. I think Ali sold about £60 , my mate bought Paragon for £102 which was top of the bids. A dead Galaxy went home with Bob as no starting bid of £20.

it's amazing how when a celebrity dies, things suddenly get listed on ebay, people out to make a quick buck I guess

Does this Ali look like a potential scam? Out of interest I asked him for more photos and got no reply. Only 1 feedback and that as a buyer ?

Just had a reply from the guy supposedly selling the Ali...says 'made a mistake with the price it should have been £1200. !!
