Looks to me like a clear piece of plastic over the wear spot held with either mylar or sellotape, won't take long for that to start peeling off!

A "totally refurbished" Shadow in "excellent condition" is in fact filthy and has the worst sanctum ware I've ever seen!
What is that over the magnet?!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/282047193962

According to the advert "The playfield is unmarked except a small piece of metal has been put at the exit of the sanctum as the ball did stick at that point , hardly noticeable"
??????

Also can people please be careful with the Blackpool-phobic comments, I have had 4-5 customers ask me now "Why do all the people on the forums say not to buy pinball machines from Blackpool"

It's not fair to be tarred with other peoples brushes

Just popped up on Gumtree

You can view the ad at 1954 chicago pinball machine

cid:1CBC56E6-80B9-413A-8884-B0A2CAAA2EF0

Words from the advert "Here is a 1954 pinball machine made in chicago and shipped to the uk many years ago . These fully restored go for up to £3000 plus and 80% of the parts are already here . The unit is in good condition and needs a few bits to be complete ."

Just a couple of questions?
Where might you find the other missing 20%?
Is this really worth £3000?

I met Luke the other week and asked the same question about being wary of Blackpool sellers.

Sure enough my suspicions were confirmed, he's very dangerous... the sort of person that gets noobies addicted with his passion for pinball without a single thought for their wallets/marriage.

This was only 2 weeks ago and i'm already 600 quid down (six million dollar man, not from luke) and have spent numerous nights sleeping in the spare room by order of my angry spouse)...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

It's a Williams 60's game. Parts game. I think it is worth more than £50 to be fair. Maybe £75:D

Six Grand!

I suppose you could afford a remote battery holder if you could afford that.

Rare you see them with the collectors plate - apparently the distribution of these was a royal screw up so some people got them, some didn't, some never left the factory etc.

not a bad project for someone, ive seen worse

Can I ask what is the appeal of the pac-man pin? I've found one at half the league meets I've been to this year and I always find it very mediocre. The maze in the middle playfield is kind of cool for about 2 or 3 games but that's about it, however a lot of people seem to have one in their collection. Is there something about it I'm missing? Good cheap game? space filler? Some sort of amazing Wizard mode I've yet to come across?...:D

the game is nothing special but was always going to start to be a collectable due to the theme. they are usually tatty with bubbling glass. nice little filler but £600 seems a little steep. Defender is the video game tie in that's worth having but of course it is the decidedly mediocre like this and SF2 that were produced in proper numbers. I think many may have it in collections as until very recently they were cheap to pick up and lots about. in the late 80s you tried to avoid them as impossible to sell on at the time.
