Ha ha, my mate works in the local agricultural machinery place here and they fitted it all. BUT I did landscape the garden, turf and dumped about 25 ton of rubbish from the garden as you could not see the garden when we bought it. Never again, my body can’t take that kind of work anymore😞
Anything that makes life easy and I’m in. I wish they did a tarmac robot vacuum😂
Our Roomba does a pretty good vacuum job inside. There must be an industrial version, if not, there should be! Vacuuming is the perfect robot chore.

I bought a cheap Aldi one for the pin room, automated. I just need to remember to shut it down as a few times when doing stuff on pins I forget it’s going to come out. Knocking over a sheet of glass that’s leaning against a pin could be messy. Once left a new mirror glass laying flat on the floor, I woke up in a sweat and rushed out there😂

Seems like we are moving off hand tools into other stuff.
JCB for baby diggers. I promised the wife it would stay for a year but we keep finding more jobs for it.

Muck Truck for moving stuff around. These things are so useful, moved 12+ tons of soil to skips from the above job. Carries 4 pallets up a hill like it wasn't carrying anything.

The non Roomba ones are brilliant. In-laws and a few mates have them and swear by them. They don't have the software quality or app capability quite often, but if you just want a robot to clean a room you don't need to talk to it! 😀

Can't have too many chainsaws I reckon. Totally different animals. The electric one is near silent, which is kinda scary for such a dangerous tool.4AA3C0C8-0BCB-4945-B87F-4A2FA9812163.jpeg

I’m after a bigger saw as the 2 14’s I have are a pain. Can’t find your post with the stihl price now....

I think I was asking £215. Got 2 people after it at £250 on FB. But I'm starting to think about keeping it as the wife didn't kick off when the Makita arrived. I need to do a mocap session with it before I sell it too. Can you not put a longer bar on the ones you have?

Another tool I enjoy collecting is axes. I have quite a few Gransfors Bruks which I was lucky enough to buy before they fell out with the UK distributors and the prices doubled. But this one which is the smallest axe I own is easily the most impressive. It's tool porn. Karesuando Kniven bushcraft hatchet, handmade in Lapland and presented in a reindeer pelt lined box. Curly birch and antler handle.

Once you go cordless it's difficult to go back. I've bought a cordless electric lawnmower, leaf blower and hedge trimmer this month to add to the cordless strimmer. Also got my eye on a cordless wet floor cleaner.

Re. the hedge trimmer I was still subconsciously avoiding the wire that didn't exist. Cut through it first time when I first used my corded one 😐.

I had a Titan SDS from them a few weeks ago. What an absolute monsters of a tool!! It felt like it could bring the whole house down!
I had a titan sds the same which I absolutely hammered with major build projects on my stone built house well beyond the usual DIY projects and was efectively in commercial use. It died at 2 years and 11 months old. 3 year guarantee so took it into screwfix missing loads of drill bits that come with it. They just swapped it there and then for a new one which I still use now 6 years on. Incredible value backed by guarantee. It's a beast but not for the weak as it is heavy.

Also had good experience with aldi tools for occasional use.

Lol - I have one of those as well. Had a few issues in the past with it, however sorted those and it now still works like a dream!! Used it last year in "Kango mode" to remove a concrete base of a wall... 8" thick, been in place for 20 years so about as solid as they come. Makes light work of anything... as mentioned - a complete beast of a machine (even if it does weigh a tonne!)....

Did similar with mine with some 8 inch thick 1950s laid concrete what was mixed with whin sill stone which is local to here and probably the hardest stone known to man. That job was what killed the first one but the second one saw it through.

The tyre inflator is great - makes checking/blowing up your car tyres a breeze, and it's MUCH faster than the old style compressors you could run from the car cigarette lighter socket.

In terms of tools, I went for Bosch blue corded and 18v cordless (which I'm very happy with), but got a Bosch-Makita battery adapter from eBay to enable me to get the Makita tyre inflator, as Bosch don't do one. Works a treat.

Possibly worth remembering if you've standardised on one brand of cordless but maybe want a tool made by another manufacturer, battery adapters are available in most combinations. They add a little bit of bulk, but can open up a much wider selection of tools (so even more potential purchases in the future)! 🙂

Just gone to use my Makita cordless hedge trimmer and it wasn't working, just a red light and momentary whirring noise. Stripped it down and ran a razor blade through it, oiled it and now it's good as new. Remember to keep them oiled!!

Totally agree. I've got too many small steps between rooms inside for a vacuum, but have got a Worx Landroid robot lawnmower and it's great. Mows the lawn twice a day, recycling clippings back into the lawn. I've not mowed for a couple of years now.

I've got the Flymo Easylife which is a rebranded Husquvarna. One of the best things I ever bought. The sheer number of hours it's saved me is amazing. It's a daily battle though to run out and find all the dog poo before it goes on it's mission.....and horrific when it hits one and drags it all round the garden. Still love it though!

haha, ours forced us to train the dog to only go to the toilet on some gravel - added bonus of the dog pee not burning the grass any more too.

One of my dogs prefers to poo on the gravel but the other one insists on doing it right in front of the lawnmower and I've even caught him peeing on it! Always wash my hands after touching the lawnmower lol
