Stuck in Rhodes

This is like being in a computer adventure game.

To progress to freedom we need to escape, but can’t get out of the prison until I tame the prison guards with a magic potion made of c19 tests and a scroll of paper from the evil king.

I’ve managed to track down Merlin who will arrive Saturday with his potions and hopefully will weave a spell for us. This has cost me much of the Golden tickets i’ve accumulated.

The evil king sent word today of how he might grant us free passage to the port. it’s still not clear exactly what he wants in return

A faithful helper has secretly arranged us safe passage by flying airship off of this Island to a land of safety. the airship owner is insisting we present them with “documents” which i have yet to fathom the true meaning.

Ye olde local shopkeeper has found a way to sneak in provisions in return for silver tokens. his local 🍷 is an acquired taste.

A chariot of escape from the prison is yet to be secured for the right date and time of escape which is a closely guarded secret……
 
I think we might need to send help to Alan :D

Nightmare for you Alan and a bit of a sharp reality check for people who are looking to holiday abroad. I think loads of us want to bu the risks are high....

God, I worked there for a week a few years ago. Stayed in a hotel on the sea front that was like Faulty Towers with the older couple who owned/run it.
On the last night was sitting at the bar and the lady owner said did we want to settle the bill so we did, now we noticed during the week she was sneaking drinks in getting ****ed. Anyway I kid you not about 20 mind after we settled the bill it was like Groundhog Day as came up to us and said exactly the same thing did we want to settle the bill🤣 I said get your husband! That same week we were sitting in a large pub by the high rd having a meal and there was about 12 of us in there, half way through the kitchen set on fire so we had to get out. Free drinks and some food, what a place😂
 
greek lot have grassed me up to the uk lot. clare who is home and has just tested neg with a full day 2 pcr test got the same instruction. it’s her birthday tomorrow, so this is not welcome news

no idea if i can leave greece now and get into uk monday ?
 
That’s interesting that the Test and Trace system still works (such as it does) abroad as well.

There’s a Kafka novel in here somewhere!
 
Alan, it says 10 days from your last contact with the person.

I don’t understand how you’d work that out if they don’t identify who that person was.
 
So does this mean your daughter gets to fly home 10 days after her positive test and you have to wait 10 days from today?
 
i never put in any dates in the test n trace website. it came up with 17th. i guess it’s because of the date of 6th when scarlets pcr result was available.
mthey have it wrong though as we’ve isolated from her earlier than that. but how the chuff i change it is another matter. i’m going to phone the british consulate here

There’s surely a legal issue here as you’re now supposed to stay at home for 10 days, not in some fancy pants hotel abroad!
 
Not going to lie @AlanJ you've put me right off going abroad anytime soon. More money for pins I suppose. Hope you get back OK soon.
 
I would not recommend if you want to travel with unvaccinated kids. I think you’d be ok if it’s all vaccinated adults

A few days ago I suggested to my ex-wife that she perhaps should fly to greece to take over from me and she’d get to see her kids. The silly cow is an anti-vaxer so can’t travel. Another reminder (great long list) of why we’re no longer married.
 
Really feel for you Alan, I couldn't imagine being cooped up in that room for so long with all the extra expense on top. So much so, we've decided to cancel our trip to Majorca next month, just not worth the risk..... I got Covid AFTER my double vaccination of astra-zeneca, so have no faith in my wife and kids being resistant in a flying tin can full of people. Your experience has decided it for us !

Hope you can keep your spirits up and enjoy the time with your kids as much as possible. See you at Daventry :)
 
The thought of Daventry in only two weeks is keeping me well motivated. Plus the two well endowed and good looking Eastern European ladies who now occupy the cell next door. I’m sure they’re on the game or are porn stars.

Wait a minute, that last sentence was in my dreams.
