Think I would be getting my £50 back, at the end of the day the vendor is not at a loss I should imagine, I would suggest that due of the fact that the vendor has a reputation of refusing to take the item back when not exactly as described, you did not want to risk being in that situation in which case a refund of the deposit is totally acceptable.
