Sold @ auction to the man/woman @ the back for a reasonable £2550

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Williams-indiana-Jones-Pinball-Machine-Superb-Condition-99p-Start-/141186161163?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&nma=true&si=g8fjK5TKWVO5mUgMESEWx9B57oo%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_310wt_958

Seller relisted with a £3250 or Best offer, I'm confused, did the seller buy it from himself for £2550 in an attempt to flip it quick for £3250 ONO and make a quick £500-750?:)

Not the first time he has and certainly won't be the last time... :(

ebay seem to encourage shilling by hiding bidder's identity. Don't know why they do this, I'm pretty sure in a real auction house bidders don't have to wear disguises

Has anyone noticed a change to the "Watch List" function? Until recently I'd add items to my watch list and then move them to separate private lists depending on what they were.

Now the "Add to list" option seems to have gone when I go in my Watch list and I can only "Delete" or "Compare" things in it. My existing private lists still have the old buttons and functionality to move things around but the ability to organise my main default watch list seems to have gone.

The most galling part of eBay's insistence that all listings must accept PayPal is that eBay owns PayPal. So after ever increasing listing costs, and the recent change that includes postage costs in the final value fees, eBay forces you to use their merchant services and charges you for that too.

Of course what you're paying for is the exposure and popularity. Everything I've ever listed on eBay has sold. And I don't think I've ever not found something I wanted to buy. It's a cheaper cut than many other industries at around 15% - Apple takes 30% for selling via the AppStore.

It's just irksome for us pinheads that due to the rising popularity of pinball at the moment it's a sellers market on eBay. Machines will get flipped from reasonable "community" prices to some over-inflated rip-off as some unsuspecting newcomer is suckered into what they think is that going rate.

Such is the nature of pinball, its primary function is to make money, everything else is secondary.............we should not be surprised when it achieves its primary purpose.

Ebay seriously need some competition. I can't understand why someone else hasn't developed something similar. How hard can it be with a good team around you and deep pockets. Ebay make billions and for what? they don't produce or manufacture anything. Its just an advertising format. Wish someone with enough wealth would realise they could make even more money and tread on ebays very large toes. Should we all chip in and get it started :D

As soon as one sets up, ebay buy it out, seen it happen in the past, ebay is so massive it would be difficult for any competition to have any credibility, love it or hate it, ebay is both awesome and a steaming turd all rolled into one.

Once again Andy, agree totally.
Right, I've just sold something on fleabay and its being picked up tomorrow. I tried to send the guy my email address and ebay forbid it, ffs

My favorite ebay story is a mate who bought a satellite receiver on ebay, found out it wasn't what he wanted, so resold on ebay.

Turned out it was a counterfeit model so paypal gave the money back to the purchaser and asked him to destroy the goods. Then my mate went back to ebay and asked for a refund on his original purchase.

You can guess the rest :p
