Anyone get atlantis?

Yep....picked it up today! :) Nice original condition (a solid 8/10) it even came with what looks like its original battery, which was fortunately still retaining its innards after 18 years! Edit, oops 28 years.....maybe not the original then!

It also came with a good quality copy of the manual - I already have an original though so if anyone wants the copy for a tenner inc postage let me know. Edit, manual now sold.

Hi,

Could you tell me what the other non-rare version is please?

Regards

C
maybe it's the rare version with broken dipswitches on the mpu,so you can't alter it from 5 to 3 ball

Glow balls anyone?
£1200 or best offer!!!!

brilliant. I knew this was top of your list.

3.5 new going rate then. tbh it's the game that get all attention when I do non pinhead events. you could stick any other game even MM and TAF would still get the attention

Problem is Steve - Those were definately "player" machines!!! Who knows what a decent one would end up going for!!

I'm REALLY glad that my time with TAF is done. Owned two, don't want any more thank you very much. Getting to the stage where the gameplay doesn't justify the price (unless you have hardly played one before).

My problem with TAF is that I don't think it is that good a game. Then again I have never owned one. But nor have I owned a MM and I still want one. TAF in my view is highly overrated. It doesn't even look nice. Whereas MM looks brilliant, plays brilliant etc. But i can't find one i can afford.

I think TAF is a great looking game, but then each to their own I guess.
I keep thinking about selling mine but then I get cold feet as it took me ages to find one.
They're like buses at the moment mind.

TAF was the biggest selling pinball machine of all time for a reason. Also, unusually for a wpc, there was a rerun (the gold).

To this day it is still a top earner on location and holds its own against the very best Sterns. Relatively simple mechanics, so reliable. Enough toys. Superb modes that really fit the theme and pf layout. Great art, sound, callouts, cab art. Real actors giving it large.

Having played the Bally SS games like Medusa, Centaur, Elektra; the System 11s like Bad Cats, Earthshaker, Banzai, Transporter, Swords of Fury; wpc like Hurricane; Data East like Checkpoint, Phantom, Simpsons ....... TAF was installed in my student bar. Was head and shoulders above anything I had played before, it was the first game I shovelled serious money into.

Price would exceed MM, but for the fact that Addams is so common.

I had a TAF for a while for nostalgia reasons and it bored me stupid to play it. Mostly due to its stop and start gameplay. MM blows it out the water in terms of fun and flow in my opinion but each to their own.

Each to their own. MM to me is a yawnfest. The most overrated machine in pinball. TAF is stone cold classic :-)

Taf had the highest production run ever. Those things are the most common machine of the lot. Why the hugh price tag? It's because pinhead or non pinhead, they can appeal to everyone on a theme level and they're willing to pay whatever the price is to get one.
Personally I'm not a fan of the machine. I can see why it does so well, but if the theme was '60 minute makeover' then i highly doubt it would be this cult classic it is now.

Oh and it's just an opinion. Would hate to offend you hardcore taf fans;).
So here's a picture

TAF is not my favourite game by any means. It can be brutally unfair with the magnets draining balls. It's a bit stop start and can be a little repetitive. But there can be no doubting that it's the most well known pinball machine ever made, a true classic and a really solid investment. Tonnes of toys and way ahead of it's time. I'm not sure MM is even comparable since it's nearly twice the price.

I think one of the reasons TAF does so well, is that it is so easy to pick up. It guides you through the modes, and what shots to make better than most.
