Looks terrible. Due to a difference in humidity? Looks like this one spent most of it's life in the bathroom

One of the worst I've ever seen, and as Steve says, it probably will go over 2K. If you're viewing the pics on certain mobile phones the detail won't even show up.

To be fair the seller states from the off that the play field has cracks in the central area and also mentions it won't affect the game being played. booth of which is true and its still not at daft money anywhere up to 1500 and its a good deal id say ... but then I'm not after one

No problems with the sellers description or integrity. But an interesting one to watch I'd say...

wasn't having a go bud, I do agree it's got planking. I was half tempted to think about it myself but cracked open pinball arcade and just couldn't find the flow in the game .. that ball that moves across the table is spooky mind :)

Yeah it's a funny one. The dreary atmosphere seems to split people such that they either love or hate it. I love it, and it's 2nd in my wanted list after TOM. I wouldn't be able to live with that playfield mind you. It would feel like a bargain under £1500 for a few days and then it would just bug the hell out of me wishing I'd spent more on a better machine.

Dear god i just spotter operation thunder on ebay at 800 - though it cant be that bad ....... i was wrong

To be honest it doesn't look that bad. Gottlieb System 3 side rails are low grade rusty junk. New set of legs and rails from Marco's will make a huge improvement on this. I'm betting it's got a full mylar on it from new and they are notoriously reliable. Still wouldn't want to pay a penny more than £800 though.

for 800 on the forum recently you could have got a near mint one. that ebay heap is nowhere close

The one on the forum was very very good value for whoever bought it. However, the rusty legs and side rails had been painted over. So to be honest I don't think they were miles apart condition wise.

Apparently, with BSD it depends on what the origin of the playfield is. This from pinside forum:

Two different companies made playfields for BSD. Sun Process and Lenc Smith. Under the apron you'll see the initials SP or LS. Lenc Smith playfields are generally known to be more prone to planking than the SP playfields, although there are plenty of nice LS playfields out there too

Ahh. Like the two different companies that made the playfields for cfrbl. The difference is the shade of paint used for the pink parts. Some being hot pink.
That's still pretty crap that some may be prone to it over others.

I couldn't possibly own that BSD. Fair play to the seller for highlighting the issues.
I can put up with a crappy cab but I must have a really nice playfield in my games.
