Uk operators put them on to class as skill . Seen it done to Taf cv totan tz BSD. Turned down a mm with it done when new playfields were Unobtainium. Seller needs to be honest about this as buyers will walk away

With this one you can blame the government . It was quite an expensive job to add these posts but to operators it opened up more sites. Most games with this bodge have been filtered out as machines wouldn't sell like that so we're scrapped. . The BSD with it done came my way for £100 as op couldn't not sell it

Does anyone have an opinion on the Elektra on eBay at the moment? Is this a good game of its era? Any thoughts on this example or the price? I know people on here are brilliant at noticing things on machines that novices like me wouldn't have spotted.

No, it's a "butchering a good game thing" So someone had drilled a hole in the playfield and fitted a pop up post thats activated by that extra blue button on the cab?!?!?!? Why?!?!?! :tut: What a way to f*ck up a classic game :cuckoo:

He says the blue buttons don't work, and he doesn't know what there for? So no idea if they activate or are meant to activate anything? He says he's got a offer of £2,700 at the moment? It's in danger of falling into the buy it and spend a fortune making it right?
On the plus side he's had it serviced last year and changes the battery's at least once a year, although he did say that there was some corrosion from a previous owner!!!

If someone wants to spend £2700 on that bag of sh*t then more power to them :) I wouldn't touch it with a f*cking barge pole :D There's plenty of TAF's out there, no need to buy a nail for silly money

Elektra is a very cool game, not looked at the one on Ebay though.....got a link?

Looks to be in nice shape apart for the horrible colouring in on one side of the cab. The main playfield is plastic so no worries there and the upper playfield looks good as this is normally where they wear. Rubbers look clean which suggests it's either been recently re-done or not been played much since it was done. Altek MPU board as well so I'm guessing the original lost a fight with some batteries, but Altek boards are good.

Looks a nice example of one of the rarer Bally games of this era. One thing to be aware of with these is if you need to rebuild the flippers there are 6 of them so it's an expensive extra....be worth asking the seller when they were last done if you were interested.

As with any game though, best to go and have a look at it in person if you're interested in buying...the pics can only tell you so much

Thanks, that's very helpful!

The mm with posts hurt my eyes. I do have pictures but won't post as a health risk. At the time mm was about 2k. Seller took 600 in the end and buyer took a risk that at some point a playfield would be available as you can't patch up this sort of eyesore. It must really grate folks on here trying to sell nice tafs to see folks bidding crazy on junk

Elektra is a really cool title. Fantastic sound/ speech. Effectively three playfields on one machine. As @ronsplooter said, the main playfield is entirely sat under thick plastic so should be mint. Boards and board repairs available for these

Watch out for condition, especially game specific parts - drop targets, plastics, cab art. I have not looked recently, but I looked into spares last year when I was looking to buy an Elektra. Some games from this era like paragon, eight ball deluxe, centaur have great spares availability. Elektra for some reason didn't back then. I know planetary pinball was asking for interest in manufacturing plastic sets, not sure if they were ever made.

At least you can now buy stencils if you want to sort out that colouring in. I would take a look at this if i had the space

the compony was round the corner from you steve i bought a tom rfm and shadow of them all only good for spares as the play fields brake up around the posts that addams is worth a grand tops the person who buys that is going to catch a cold

before 2004 you could not operate a pinball in the uk with out paying licence duty unless it was a skill game thats why early sterns had skill posts a company in birmigham converted them so they could be operator on a profit shire with out paying the duty pinballs where designed for making money I've a few of these games over the years and scraped them as the play field break up where they have been drilled

Interesting that those posts make pinball a game of skill but not the 3 inch bats at the bottom of the playfield. Kenneth Clark to blame and his stupid AMLD

Good old Dougie. the BSD was very helpful for spares and the cab sides are in the shed. the mist multiball assembly is gold dust

Just popped up on eBay £3600 or best offer
