It is a scam.

I can't believe anybody on here would think otherwise. It is a blatant scam. It couldn't be any more obvious.

Just saying. :p

We should just have a Sticky.

Dear excitable new pinheads (no offence) ..... the days of *bargain* Medieval Madness/ Cactus Canyons / Attack From Mars/ Popeye is long gone. Any listing on eBay/Gumtree/wherever appearing to offer a too good to be true price is ...*surprise* too good to be true , and a scam.

You'd actually be better off investing yr money in developing a time machine to head back to the early 2000s to pick up some "cheap" games  At least there would be a tiny chance of that working out. Very tiny yes, but still more of a chance.

Stay frosty

I got a message back from the fella about 5mins ago to say he would take £1700 for quick sale there isn't a topper for it either pictures aren't to clever if he came back with something sensible I might have took a drive over for a viewing.

Beware buying on ebay. Lots of folk with a single game in the garage. Been there years. They have no idea how to fix it. Have never repaired a thing. Play it twice a year. Ignore error messages. But got put off by the call out charge and hourly rate to get it fixed.

They are not enthusiasts or geeks like us

Buying in these circumstances can often mean a tonne of work

Just for a bit of sport, (and because I've a vested interest) What does anyone think the JD may end up going for?
I'm going to say that it will be pulled before the 11th hour!
The last two made about £1850, but had the toppers!
Anyone interested in a guess?

When/if money and wife allows another pin I would probably buy from you guys without a second thought, ebay would be a last resort if ever.

I have a new method to circumvent this problem but it has its own problems: i buy the machine without telling her and then i loan it out immediately to someone else. Minor problem: i don't get to play with them straight away. But the day I'll get them back I'll just say "bought this ages ago didn't i tell you?". I have noticed that an old purchase can't be used in the argument that we don't have the money now...

That works, but easier still is just to claim that all or most of your games are just loaners from friends. They do the same with their wives too. None of these women have enough interest when they get together to actually compare notes on specific machines so it tends to work out all right.
Whenever my missus spots Martin's van outside I always claim he's taking away a sold game or bringing a loaner. I'm sure she knows I'm lying but has long since given up.

there's a 50% chance that you're my wife in disguise trying to tempt me into a trap!!

The Space Station for £900 BIN on ebay this evening didn't last very long. Anyone here lucky enough to bag that one. ;)

I was very tempted myself, although it was down south and a bit of a trek for me.
