Complete Bally Medusa

It’s acrylic paint, so dries very fast and so will be tricky to stencil with.
People in the States are taking their stencils off in minutes after painting without issues of residue so that might be a good thing plus the paint edges might not pull up with the stencil if it dries fast but then again it might be hard to pull up. Good luck 🍀

Great game😎

Yes it is reusable. the original 5l i bought two years ago is still working in my long soil pipe (for legs, lock down receivers and other long metal bits). it is very black now but still works

Evaporust. it’s expensive initial outlay, but lasts for many uses so works out cheaper than the one shot acid alternatives. It’s also safe to dip your fingers in! 😂

will you use foil backed card,or just earth braid for the restore, like you did on lost world?

Test run of the proper paint colour. looking spot on:

Still got some sanding and prep on the main cab to do. but then it will be on with the primer and this base coat colour.

Looks great Alan!

I don’t suppose you could reveal what paint you used? I’m in the process of painting my backbox and can’t find a suitable colour match I’m happy with, yours looks perfect!

Stencilling proving tricky. it’s too cold now in my garage. red/purple base layers have gone on ok, but the stencil mask is leaving a lot of residue which seems stuck fast, and worse still the gold paint isn’t playing ball (always seems to be the damn gold paint) . I’ve ordered some different gold paint, and will move the cab into the main house to warm it up.

You might be lucky and the residue/marks will disappear, I put some masking tape on mine to test and it left a strip of residue/mark from it but seems to have nearly vanished!
The last lot of stencilling left residue/marks and that vanished too, I just dont get it🤷‍♂️
I tried stuff to remove and did nothing, left it to cure more and sorted itself out.
I was so angry I cant tell you but I did celebrate when it ‘fixed’ itself😎

Good luck🍀

Decided to start on the playfield. full swap, so everything off apart from old lamp sockets because i’m going socketless leds on the new one. 5 hours in and just the metal posts, wire guides and t-nuts to remove to complete the strip down.

A lot of clearcoat goes into the slots:

I learnt the hard way that this is the very first job to do on a new pf.

Next is hammering in the t-nuts.

Bearing in mind how much the playfields cost (and presumably everyone has to do this if × rollovers are present) you'd think they could do something to prevent thia
