Torpedo Alley has had an issue for a while with cold solder joints on the power board which stopped the game from booting so I haven't played it for ages. Finally got some time this evening to pull the power board, reflow the joints on the power connector and we're back in business. Had a decent test game and got a few jackpots which nearly gave me a seizure......the light show on this game is bonkers Such a cool game

(Yes we do occasionally work on Gottlieb at New Forest!) Originally purchased with the intention of retheme but the years have passed me by……..

Footnote: when I first played this game I never really gelled with it. (Nothing as bad as tspp o course) now after playing it regularly for about 5 years at SWL @Moonraker I love it… also somewhere on Facebook there is a video of me and @GezTheHealer luke playing it. He wins with a stuck variotarget….. c u around

Week 4 of my flu turned pneumonia
Not feeling to great on my 3rd lot of antibiotics in as many weeks!
Anyhow thought I’d cheer myself up and spend a few hours on BK2k in my onesie.

Fitted some sunlight comets in back glass and GI care of @David retro.
New sub care of keef @new forest pinball.
And finally an 8 part etched plastic set care of me @Colywobbles

Finally got my powder coating back for Foo Fighters, I really need to find another local guy, my guy takes forever. Also finished fitting all the other bits I like to do, mirror blades, speaker lights, shaker, quiet fan, Wayne fans, coly protectors and flipper plastics, and the Ali express cob led strips to the upper playfield.

Working on a STTNG, It’s coming along nicely.
Playfield is ready to go back in and finished and then it’s just the powder coating to sort.

I worked on a few more TAF scoops this week that all had the usual broken spot welds. These 3 are for @Happypin TAF restore.

They should hopefully now last another 30+ years

As the weather was ok last week, I took the opportunity to make some new wooden rails out of oak for a Fish Tales I’m working on.

Once I’d drilled the holes, I removed them and cracked out the stains. Decided to go with a nice green which really highlights the grain of the wood.

After that I clear coated them and screwed them back onto the playfield.

Thanks. yeah I was contemplating orange but on then playfield, there is actually more green especially when the plastics are in place.

Though a blue might also work as well

Not sure, my oak is darker and was done about 15 years ago. My new playfield is still waiting to be fitted
Will look totally different when it’s all together so I might like it better then, whatever floats your boat

Cabinet is back together, playfield is back in, justs the ramps and the wiring to get back in place.
It’s really starting to come together

Replaced a pop bumper plastic surround with me Dad; the screw holes for the cap had become threaded so after a while the cap kept popping off, so for months it's been without the top looking a bit bare.
Meant taking out the bulb socket and soldering back on underneath ..When it all went back together it worked!

Probably because I’ve had fishing boats with teak etc that I like the natural look, just looks right to me and they have been on there long enough.
I don’t even like it when people put those green flipper rubbers on and I won’t mention some of the powder coating colours I have seen

I’ve put a couple of shifts in. Back box r wired up and alive run out of bits to fit onto the playfield, so I’m guessing that’s done aswell. I’ve just got the main cabinet wires to refit and the get it powered on - then it’s fingers crossed

Got a TZ to restore next, I’ve got a lovely new playfield to stick in it.
