not sure if this has been posted or not but there is a powder coated red Hook on ebay at the min, didnt sell the first time so it was re listed. was thinking about getting it as my first pin as i do like the table but no idea if its a good price or not at £2750 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304863550371
Its one I shopped less than 2 years ago, Leds, rebuilt flippers, stripped cleaned and polished(which on a hook is a lot of work) NVRAM on board so no batteries, new roms etc, hes taking a big loss on it at that price, you'd pay maybe 2500 for an untouched Hook, powder coating was excellent and included speaker/dmd surround. There was a touch up on playfield where ball drops on hooks shoulder. HOOK is a great pinball, lots of fun ramps etc I've had another since and only sold as needed the cash-I'll get another soon!

Still have his AFM naided to the floor but his ST TNG left the building. Real class jobs all of them
No they wasn’t, he sold me the LOTR LE that had a damaged bottom under the coin box that had been repaired badly, warped playfield and a crap load of wiring mess from his modding.
Apart from that it was great!
If I had known I would have stayed clear.

Buy one that’s had the work done unless you like getting your hands dirty and spending £££ on parts plus the time needed to do everything. The small premium on this Hook is worth it in my opinion if you plan on playing it a lot.

I can attest to this Fact as I ended up with a Spadge super special Pin!
Overloaded with mods with wires literally wrapped around bulb tabs without solder 😳
I was having a ton of problems and only realised when it blew a fuse and I lifted the PF discovering spaghetti junction.
A 7A fuse has been put in place of a 5A one obviously to stop it blowing.
It had about a dozen mods fitted inc ColourDMD, Speaker Lights and many other powered direct from the pin.
Stripped every mod out of there and fitted my own PSU to power the ones I put back in and it never missed a beat.
Now long gone.

The flipper fuses under the playfield were over rated and ended up blowing transistors and damaging the coils, smelt great😂
I also cleaned up the wiring, was so bad I had to laugh. Fire waiting to happen.

That was my worry and I let the seller know who had a few of these super special editions without realising just how bad things could go down.

When this was listed at £9000 or so I messaged and asked how much he really wanted. He’s just replied and said £7400 is the lowest offer he’d take. Then I looked again and see he’s currently got it listed BIN at £6000.
He’s just sent me an offer via EBay, because I’m watching it, of £4,500 to buy it.

I’ve sent him a message to say he’s way off with the pricing and said he may get £1,500 to £2,000 for it.

I hope he takes it in the spirit intended.

i do love rebuilding and building stuff in general but i currently know very little about the innards of a table so one thats been recently serviced would be ideal. May drop him a message :)

Nice looking machine but the sound would get old with me really fast, like the 2nd play. I think your valuation is bang on.

It’s been on e bay for a long time and not sold with a Hugh audience he obviously over paid for it and trying to recover as much back if you did pay £2750 for it when you come to sell it expect to lose money
