Messaged the guy. Seems genuine enough. He said he only just picked up the machine this week and thankfully hes now moved it into his garage so its not sitting outside. He is at 2k. I was tempted but its not the Burton i was thinking of. I only knew of burton-in-kendal and assumed I could go look at it but its a 10 hour round trip for me. For anyone else, heres the pics he sent. Definitely needs some tlc but at least he’s showing the playfield so you can see the wear. He sent a video too and it was ‘looking for pinballs’ on the display so its either missing a ball or the opto sensor in the trough doesnt think the balls are there. Worth confirming that with him if you’re tempted

My comment wasnt intended as a slur. But when I read that its got new hardtop, new PCBs and lamps are now LEDs (none of which is a bad thing imho) it made me think of triggers broom.
I have a Gorgar to refurb myself (when I get around to collecting it) so hope you get what your looking for ! :)

No worries, none was taken. I think it's an accurate description. There were a few gremlins to work out, and I decided so much had already been done that I would continue down that non-original path. It looks fantastic in person, a new life for a machine that has already lived more than one. The LEDs were the hardest decision, I've even added a few more under the plastics to give it a little life in darker areas. I went with Comet Sunlight for the GI and backbox, just the perfect compromise to my eyes. Hopefully it will now go one for another 40 years.

Looks like it's found the right home, it sold last night.

I dunno. It’s a very nice example . I’d be surprised to see a nice one for less than 4k …. so only needs someone keen for a good one. Colour display and original dmd thrown in - that’s £250+ right there.

Very desirable theme and probably the best , most loaded Data East . I don’t blame the seller for trying their luck .

11k BIN is mental though 😂
