Complete The Addams Family(s) Restoration

Ive been testing both games over the last week to get them playing spot on. The Chrome TAF hardly needed any fine turning. So that’s now gone back to its owner.

On my TAF, I had to spend abit more time on it. I made some adjustments to one of the switches in the swamp and the metal Thing box, but I think now everything seems to be dailed in I can finally mark this thread as complete 😀.

There were a few unexpected hurdles I had to overcome, like fixing the bow in one of the cabinets and completely replacing the rear part of the cab on the other.

In terms of the number of hours that I’ve spent on each game, it was quite a lot 😮. But that was me taking my time and being quite meticulous 😂

In total I spend just over 300 hours on my game and around 230 on the other TAF. I spent more hours on mine due to the extra work I decided to do like integrating the Pinstadiums, installing a Kruzman playfield and replacing the back of the cab.

Time has never been a factor as this is a hobby for me so I can take my time and make sure they are done to the best of my ability. But overall I’ve really enjoyed the entire process of both these projects and they have come out better than the initial ideas I had for them at the start. I can’t wait to crack on with the next couple of projects now.

Thank god it’s over and done, seriously Ant….stunning has a new meaning.

Didn’t know whether to post this in the Thank You thread or Ant’s TAF restoration thread.

The 2nd TAF is mine and I need to post a huge thank you to Ant for his amazing work. Posting on forums is not my thing but I do enjoy being a lurker. Thanks to this forum I have learnt many things and sourced parts/mods and Pins. Now I am the proud owner of an amazing super mint Addams Family. I cant thank Ant enough, he has been awesome throughout. His work is brilliant and watching the progress through both this thread and visiting his workshop had been hugely enjoyable and thanks to Ants encouragement I will be attending (with TAF) my first pinfest this year.

My wife has never let pins in the house, they have always had to be in the games room, but her attitude changed once she saw this one and it is now residing in the study (not sure for how long however as the blind needs to be kept close to prevent UV damage).

In my opinion this TAF is now better than super mint but I think it time to let some photos do the talking.

I hope one day to be able to do another super mint with Ant. Thanks again.

Thanks mate. I really enjoyed working on both of them side by side even if at times some of the jobs were a real pain in the ****.
But it was worth it in the end, and at least your cabinet is no longer bowed like banana anymore and you can lift the playfield 😂

Let me know how it goes when people play it and smoke starts billowing out. My daughter had a few of her friends play mine at the weekend and when the smoke machine went off, I said “****, I thinks it’s on fire!” I then turned around and they had all legged it out the room 🤣🤣

I’ll definitely get TOM in the workshop soon 😉👍🏻

Truly amazing work, very very well done.

It's been great following all your work along the way, thanks for sharing with us all 👌

Amazing work. Enjoyed following your progress.
Outstanding
This has left a damp patch in my undercrackers and I don’t even rate TAF 😳

Simply both remarkable and absolutely stunning Ant 🤩
Holy **** those before and after pics Ant, this is Pin Porn, centrefold special, outstanding work.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I’m working on another T2 currently, but I might do another build log for a BSD super minty that ill be starting on next.

Ant has done another amazing job with this game, his innovation and attention to detail are a real treat to see.

I was lucky enough to see this wonderful project alongside Alan & Alfie and it's even better in the flesh. People are going to love it at Pinfest

Wow what an amazing achievement to both machines, your attention to detail is 2nd to none!

looking forward to seeing your next shop log and your innovations 👍

I've been following this thread and have been blown away post after post, update after update.

Here's me worrying about how I'm going to simply replace my stock decals on my T2, looking at videos on YouTube etc and here's you dying nuts and cable ties, washing cables, unbending wood, and adding a bloody smoke machine and all kinds of forum magic.

I bet it's not past you to design and build your own custom game.

Honestly Ant, my hat goes off to you. You deserve to be on the telly!

Thank you for sharing all of this!

Outstanding work from Ant on this game. I purposefully tried to stay away from this thread as much as possible so as not to spoil the surprise.
I can honestly say that it's every bit as good in the flesh, the attention to detail is ridiculous.

Congratulations mate and thanks for letting me film it.

Just watched the video. Incredible, incredible stuff. The passion and detail Ant goes into is beyond words. Fantastic work. Well done Ant and congrats to the owner of the second game!

League of your own ant 🐜 ain’t no one better well done 😎

Thanks for taking the time again Kris to come round and film both the TAF’s. Unfortunately my over designed living room for the elite was out of bounds for filming that night so we had to make do with my workshop 😉😂

My stunt double @Happypin stood in for me and had a few games on camera as I can’t play for ****, and would have lost all 3 balls within minutes 😂

Absolutely beautiful restore, cant imagine theres a nicer one to be found anywhere!
Cheers guys. Both games were enjoyable projects to undertake, especially as @Mednec gave me pretty much free range to do what I wanted with his game.

I’m working on a super minty BSD at the moment, so I will at some point do build log for that 👍🏻

Need to see a video of that ramp in action. I'm speaking to the same guy about making me some custom ramps :D.

Is that from David in Australia? I think I've got a JP wireform coming from the same guy

Yes it is. His wire forms are really well made. @Happypin also has one for his TZ which is really good.

I didn’t have to pay import fees as well which was a right result 👍🏻
