Likewise totally forgot to collect mine so please post.
Did you not go to Pinfest? Can I have posted please Phil?
It's a quality package, custom speech by the original cast, if you like scooby doo it helps alot. The game is basically hit one of the mystery doors then try and solve some puzzles by hitting in order shots, trick is you don't know what the shots are so you have to learn it. All modes link to different cartoon episodes, not sure if the episodes are custom, don't know scooby doo well enough. There hidden upkickers, bit of a guess work and all over the place when you first play it, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty good. The top playfield has a strange plastic flipper thing that takes a little getting used to. At first it's difficult because of the false sense of randomness but it quickly becomes easier, good for the family. Although if you don't like scooby doo the game won't change your mind. It won't convert you, you either like it or you won't. Recommend playing for at least an hour, it's first impression is unfair, I thought about buying one but my youngest showed no interest when I took her to play it, holding out for the expected harry potter. The Top end one with that topper looks great, it's bright, colourful., it's better than what some think of it.Thanks for commenting Richard, sorry to hear you are getting out of the hobby (can understand it though; certainly from the perspective of having a game at home)
Was just watching some footage of the game on my lunch break; lightshow looks brilliant and seems like Spooky outdid themselves re; the music - really well done tunes and quality.
It’s a machine which rewards control play - make a shot, trap the ball, make another. Playing on the fly is dangerous as there are lots of posts at mid-range and any miss can be punished. Backhanding everything is advisable.Hi all, I've seen a lot of Scooby's for sale; what's the general concencious re; the gameplay and reliability?
Apparently code updates are still coming and adding content?
Love the theme, idea of co-op (might coax my wife etc to play more) and 5 player appeals to me, which has made me consider one as a stop gap in between going straight from an OG Metallica to the remake.
What worry me a bit, is that 2nd hand prices seem to be plummeting (saw a CE on here up for less than £8k including the £1k topper before (don't know what it actually sold for), which seemed a good deal, but then see the standard editions going super cheap?
Side note: I used to have a Halloween CE; really enjoyed the game, but got a bit stale after a while (extra content on its way at the time didn't seem exciting)- loved the lighting on it and the cab art was the best I've seen on a game imho.
I do think I prefer more of a flow type of game tbh; maybe a scooby will have to wait until a day comes where I can have more than one game at a time, where something like this would be a great compliment to more flowey(?) games. It’s a machine which rewards control play - make a shot, trap the ball, make another. if that’s the type of play you enjoy then you will probably enjoy Scooby, but if you’re a “flow” player then I’d say maybe not. The modes do feel quite fresh compared with the typical “shoot lit arrow” - finding sequences of shots through trial and error etc.
From my little understanding of the games you've owned and seem to love, scooby doo would be a mistake. It's a game best played in a collection. I'm the same can only have one, unless you absolutely love the theme or have kids who would like it so you can play with them, I wouldn't be looking at one. It's not a bad game, it's fun, but having a collection of games that complement or just the one is very different.I do think I prefer more of a flow type of game tbh; maybe a scooby will have to wait until a day comes where I can have more than one game at a time, where something like this would be a great compliment to more flowey(?) games.
