Personally I just get a load of sunlights, for my games now. Then a few warms or cools depending on the insert colour.

Thanks - never done a LED conversion before but seems like many people do colour match inserts especially green/blue ones.
Me neither, but wanting to do sttng. I do think they can be a very personal choice and there is no right or wrong.
I’m going to put some effort in and swap in and out and play around with different colours/ brightness etc.
I’ve been colour matching my flintstones recently and it makes a massive improvement
I have some colour matched but the results vary a lot. Especially if the insert has text on it. It washes it out and looks awful.
Remember these inserts are already coloured and adding a super bright LED already improves them tenfold, especially as incandescents weren't bright and gave off a warmer orange tone.
I have a load of warm white, sunlight and cool whites, both frosted and clear that I use to experiment with. The different tones of white suit different inserts.
It's personal preference of course
I just find a kit is to someone else's taste and not always suiting.

+1 for colour matching the inserts as well. I think it looks great. I generally use clear 1SMD’s. The only exceptions imo are yellow and orange inserts.
Warm white for yellow and light orange inserts and pink for dark orange

@David retro any chance you can bring over some of the pu-parts shooter lane protectors Mezel stock? Annoyingly pu-parts won’t sell to the U.K. anymore without a VAT number I believe and they do some good stuff.
