Itinerary for the NERG weekend

Friday
Setup is from 7am till 7pm
Minibus booked to go to Ramada Encore hotel at 7:05pm - First come basis! It's only a 20 minute walk anyway
Booking into the hotel - All rooms are booked in your name but covered by my card. You don't turn up, I end up paying for the room. Don't let me down.
Most stay at the hotel on the Friday evening for a few drinks and food.

Saturday
Breakfast is included with your room rate.
Minibus booked for 9am from the hotel to the stadium - First come basis!
NERG starts at 10am
NERG finishes at 6pm
Minibus booked for 6:05pm - First come basis!
You have an hour to get showered and changed
2 x Minibus booked for 7:15pm to take us to The Split Chimp bar where I have a hot buffet laid on for the staff and supporters

Sunday
Minibus booked for 9am to take us to the stadium
NERG starts at 10am
NERG finishes at 4:30pm

Seems everything is against me here ffs
Sitting in hospital to be told they need to dive back inside my arm due to bad nerve problems that have arisen

Of all days It’s scheduled for Friday at 12:30 but I should manage to drop Johnny off early however picking back up might be tricky.

Although there is zero chance of me playing pinball I promised the little fella a day out at NERG as he arcade mad and I mainly go for chinwag as @Gonzo puts it.
So if anyone see’s me standing around like a lemon I’d welcome you’s to poke me to get your attention and excuse me for not recognising you it’s an age thing.

TBH Phil it might be easier as I was having to borrow a car and have a couple of mates help me move the pin around and not being able to drive after the op will make it almost impossible to collect it.
But moreover the consultant said I have to have it strapped up after the op and try to rest it for at least 2 weeks and as for my ski instruction she said 6-8mth is not unrealistic

I promise I’ll make up for it next year and bring at least 2 pins and I’ll still try to visit over the weekend if I can get a lift.

Agreed. Great work to everyone that contributes to running such an event. Enjoyed the day and pleasantly surprised how cool it was in the hall. Had a killer game on MET and enjoyed playing many of the older games.

Myself, Son and a Friend really enjoyed the NERG Event.. A huge thanks to the guys and girls who put this event on, they were super helpful and very friendly, thanks.

We played many Pins, and spent most of our time in the Pin area actually

I also had a good bit banter with Wayne whilst at the event (sorry Wayne I forgot your user name on here) he's a real topper of a bloke.

Also as always, it was real nice to meet with the Clunies ( @ailsaclunie ) again who always make us newbies feel more than welcome. Oh.. I really hope your journey back home is far less hassle free

So good to catch up with friends, old and new, play pinball and have a great time.

I’m beat. Just getting to bed. Legs not working. Fantastic return. Thank you everyone. Without the donators, friends and family, the event wouldn’t be what it is.

And in true style, I never played a single game.

Love the look of the new battlezone. Thanks for bringing that along. I may have to invest in it.

Great bash Phil, thanks for letting us support. Farfalla and Nautilus both went terminal with Nautilus on day one I am sorry to say. Farfalla went on Sunday I know what the issue is and will be sorted for PinFest. Nautilus was a real head scratcher, still not sure so need to set it up and take a look with fresh eyes later this week. Pacman suffered a few issues, from a dying transistor – replaced and re-seated a ribbon or two and it worked perfectly (cheers for the help Poi). One or two EMs needed a minor adjustment and Rodeo. the gun game was giving away infinite shots Sorted that out on Sunday when I checked it in the Morning. Startwars upright and Battle zone Cabaret both performed flawlessly. I guess the fans I installed for sucking in air and pushing out warm air helped a lot here



Thanks again Phil, great bash, made some new friends too. You really looked after the supporters, so thank you. Rob and I had our usual grumpy old men routine, falling out on the way home, but we got the last pin of after midnight. My head hit the pillow at 01:00 after dropping the van back at the hire place. I was then up at 05:00 for my swim training…

Just to say thank you for a great event. My first attendance at a big event - back in the day, young kids and distance conspired to prevent me going. All I could do was get the VHS videos to watch - that dates me .
