Grounding strap insulation

The backbox speakers on my Star Wars are humming loudly. Am I right in thinking this could be caused/worsened by uninsulated grounding braid?

Both speakers are attached to back plate of backbox using bare grounding braid.

Anyone know where I can get some insulation from please? Searching all the usual sites for “grounding braid insulation/sheafing” I’m coming up with nothing.

Can I just use any old kind of tubing - e.g. aquarium tubing?

Thanks

Andy

I have tried the following to sort out the 'hum' on my DE Tommy ....none of which have made much/any difference :( Some people have had success doing some of these ..... it is odd how nobody can seem to find a definitive fix :hmm:

Tightening soundboard screws
Floating the soundboard off the backplate
Replacing the BIG blue capacitor/bridges with Incochnitos Bridge Board
Seperate power supply for sound board

I believe installing a Pinsound board will maybe sort it - but that's an expensive fix.

Thanks for the tips/advice. I’ve checked the board’s well screwed in but will try the other stuff.

Toying with idea of PinSound board but like you say, very expensive.
