Ghostbusters new code..

Yeah, I love everything about this pin.
Even think the Premium beats the LE hands down in art.
It’s the ball down the middle that prevents me getting one.
Doesn’t anyone one make oversized flippers?

Tried the 1.16 code last night, really happy with what they've done. The one things that's most beneficial to me is how much quieter the machine is with the new solenoid adjustments. I'm sure this is something that doesn't concern most people here, but my machine is next to a wall that is shared with my neighbour (who has never complained but I like to be considerate), so the fact the game no longer sounds like I'm smashing up pallets with a hammer is great! :)
The auto launcher no longer sends balls into low earth orbit, the sling shots (Pro version) are no longer trying to compete with each other over who can smash the ball the hardest, the flippers are not only quieter themselves, they don't cause the ball to hit ramps and targets as hard.
Everything still plays great, just less aggressively.
I might be imagining it, but I'm sure the overall audio mix has also been re-done. The sound effects and music seem like they've been attenuated to the same volume, which enables you to turn down the volume a notch while still being able to hear everything clearly.
A massive thumbs up from me! 👍

Flippers being flopped doesn't help the flipper gap either ;)

flippers in the correct location you mean?

Only if they are both down will it matter.

There should be a special crime of messing with the flippers like that!

🤣 ...and not for fitting Carrot flippers? or the worst crime of all fitting lightning flippers

one night I'm going to sneak in to your house and change all your flippers to lightning flippers :D :D :D :D :D

we used ghostbusters in the tournament yesterday and it seemed much more tournament friendly. Take the ball save down to 1 and turn off mode complete on ball end and you are good to go.

I'm on a quest. At Expo I'm going to talk to every single designer at expo and get them to quote how bad it is to mess with the flipper base angle :D

Always a dream theme for me this one. It had the art, call-outs, music but you felt there was always something missing. Well been playing it a fair bit this wknd on the new code and Stern have created a masterclass. Well done Stern and thank you for creating such a fun, frustrating, deep, eye popping, adrenaline fuelled extravaganza!

There was another code update yesterday, tweaks and fixes mainly.

Game code 1.17 :
LE/PREMIUM V1.17 - October 8th, 2019
====================================
New:
- Added a Full Credit sound
Fixes:
- River of Slime will no longer score inflated values from playfield
multipliers.
- Left captive ball Arrow will now show when pink slime is available
correctly.
- Collecting ghost during Storage Facility Multiball will no longer stop
minor rules when you cross the 60 or 80 ghost threshold until the
multiball is over.
- Super Jackpot value will now display correctly in the background
- If you start a game in God Mode then change the adjustment mid-game, the
Normal mode will not be in effect until the next game.
- Draining during the grace of a scene will now give you the proper credit for
the scene.
- God mode should now end correctly and not continue into normal play.
Tweaks:
- Skill shot
- Changed base skill shot award from 10% to 5% of your score
- Left Eject : changed award from "Light Tobin's Guide" to "Award Tobin's
Guide"
- Left Ramp : changed award from "Award Super Jackpot" to "Light Super
Jackpot"
- Right Orbit : changed award "10% of score" to "Award River of Slime"
- PKE will no longer be available on the right ramp if PKE is currently
ready.
- Tightened up exploits
- Improved coil power management
- Changed playfield multiplier 6X. It has an initially slightly longer timer
but then not be extendable.
- Spinner now activates the topper
- One Add A Ball or light add a ball from Picto pops per multiball
- Improved the Are You A God? messaging.
Moved to SYSTEM 2.35 -
- Updated to nodeboard firmware v0.52.0
- Added Standard Adjustment "MAX PLAYERS PER GAME". Values are 1 to 4,
with a default setting of 4. This can be used to limit the number
of players that can be added to a game.

Cool! I see on Pinside that some folks are having an issue with the 1.17 update, specifically the update process appears to complete but the machine is still running version 1.16 afterwards.

It's not breaking anything as far as I'm aware, but I might hold off until whatever is causing the update to fail is fixed.

I was having a good game yesterday on 1.16 when I got Tobin’s and the game crashed and reset. Wonder if they fixed whatever that was...

A little vague :hmm:
Agreed. Apparently the last release still had the crazy soft plunge/full plunge exploit ( there's a deadflip video somewhere of jack getting crazy points repeatedly pulling that off ). Maybe they finally fixed that.

I think the layout is challenging but still fun,
I don’t find it to be a drain whore either and the new code is awesome making it far more accessible to casual players.
My wife loves it more than any pin we’ve played and has quite long ball times thanks in part to the double ball save.
As we get better at it there is the option to make the game harder but still enjoyable whereas some tables are just brutal which is fine if you are a great player, like to be punished, like quick games and / or have the money and space to have a large collection.
The update has made GB, which in my opinion is one of Sterns best machines, gorgeous artwork, superb theme with wide appeal, one of the best sounding pins, great toys and shots with a lot of depth and variety in how you play the game and the order you do things, now is a perfect fit at home as a single machine or small collection.
I guess we like it 😂
