We’ve been working to fix the flipper problem on Fish Tales, which seems to be to do with a molex connector.

I’ve also started a thread asking whether I should do a super-mint restoration on the Fish Tales.

As the playfield is up, I took some pictures of a mysterious white substance that I’ve noticed surrounding most of the insert holes underneath the playfield. Can anyone advise as to what this is?

Playfield has been somewhere damp, then? That would also explain the rust on the assemblies and why there aren’t many original boards…

i would say so. here’s my 8ball deluxe when i got it. covered in the stuff , been in a barn for years. all mechs rusted badly too

Our Fish Tales is occasionally launching two balls instead of one. It also, sometimes, auto-launches a ball immediately after drain (and the game carries on as though the drain didn’t happen). When it auto-launches after a drain, the colour LCD shows the score in dual-colours - as though the colours are setup for different text than what is showing (if that makes any sense).

Any ideas?

on the other one I think that could be two problems, one magnetic balls and two some sort of switch issue or opto issue on the trough (can't remember on FT).
