:D:D well done guys. Will serve this guy right.

When he 1st advertised this (a good year ago) he said it wasn't played anymore as bored of it ( I do remember total rubbish for some reason)
and now he says it's given lots of hours of enjoyment.

I think if it doesn't sell this time he's going to lose patience and burn it :D

Haha Dan, I've just told him it was you :p:p

Fancy telling him the last 1 sold for £1040 :D

All of those plus sometimes rarity and if on ebay then you can get 2 bidders both really want it so it sky rockets and of course good old shill bidding.

One of the worst things ebay have ever done is hiding bidders full identity
Yup add to this, SAD (Seasonal Adjusted Disorder) in our case, Xmas silly season and the Jan comedown, just pot luck if the title you are trying to acquire becomes available when the world has its eyes and wallet closed, Jonathan's TAF gold was a prime example of everyone looking the other way or snoozing (including myself) for whatever reasons and a trophy going for way below market value at the time.

£2500 Spiderman anyone? SM & LOTR historically have a very similar value/condition so what is going on with the LOTR listings?, anyone want to sell me a stunning LOTR (pref no skill posts), I will pay max of £3.5k which IMO is the correct current value.

Theme wise ....classic book, widely regarded film trilogy beats a so-so, fading from memory already standard Hollywood superhero series. Possibly The Hobbit factor is reigniting interest - both films and new pin.

Gameplay wise - LOTR feels better and more interesting to play, and looks loads better imo.

Random musing..... Since there will be little or no rarity value, maybe it's just finding it's price as a game.

I have a stunning LOTR (no skill posts) but value it higher than anything you're prepared pay...

Why? Well to have anything equally as nice in my collection I'd have to either buy new or buy a top condition refurbishment (of a top title).

Subsequently, I certainly wouldn't want to sell it to you....

Indeed it is a lovely specimen (green with envy)

Why not? is it too good to stand next to my machines, the 3.5k limit or is it some other personal factor? , I missed a stunner a few year back for 2.2K so thought my offer was a generous one esp for a Stern.

There was a Hook on eBay which I was watching but subsequently went over my budget. I then received an item cancellation email, next thing it was relisted with 1 bid at £1200.

IF YOU AUCTION A MACHINE LET IT RUN FOR THE DURATION.

Already answered in my post, but please do show me what new or highend refurbs of top titles sell for 3.5K... o_O

I don't think he was being snooty Andy, just think it's worded VERY badly! He means he wont sell it to you (or indeed anyone) for 3500. I think your offer is decent although I still don't want to sell my LOTR either! (and I certainly wouldn't sell it to you :p)

Your machine is neither, not new or a high end refurb but sounds like a really nice original example, you could get an equally nice example TOM, IJ, TZ, SM and SS for 3.5k, all these are top titles, all depends on what floats your boat, obviously you personally would not want to replace your LOTR with these but I am sure other LOTR owners might, I was offered a mint LOTR straight swap for my SM which I declined as I was trying to own both at the time so parting with the SM seemed pointless, but it does highlight some highly sought after MINT titles which could be acquired for 3.5k

Some Would argue that some of the listed titles are better than the LOTR, I personally would own the TZ, TOM, IJ & SS over the LOTR hence why I already do and why LOTR is on the whenever list, horses for courses.

Aww sorry i couldnt resist ;)

Just seemed like an odd thing to write at the end of a thread, no offence taken, no one has to sell anything to anyone, wouldn't want yours anyway Nick, no doubt it would have been played within an inch of its life, it would be like buying a used car from Lewis Hamilton :p

Now you put it like that, it seems I value it too highly. I guess I'll have to sell it you for a lot less than you want to pay to make you take it :(

The thing to note here is that the SM sold and it made £2.55K, there is no way either of the LOTR's will sell on ebay so it is difficult to assertain what someone will pay for a nice example LOTR which translates to current market value and trend, last one I know of that actually sold was "Fistsfirst" and that was lowered in price a few times on ebay before it shifted for <3k if my memory serves me right.

I think it's time to get realistic if you are serious about selling your high value pin, people are not as trigger happy with the wallet as market changes take hold and the NIB variety increases, this may infact signal a downwards trend in certain pin price (MM prime example).

T'was not that long ago that SM, LOTR and TSPP were the only Sterns on the majority's want list, now there are plenty.
