Is Harrybo_77 - Harry Bolt on here?

Yes it is, I got my "lovely" LAH off him, a donor cab and new decals later and it looks good, once bitten and all that. My own fault as well, should have gone to see it first.

Surely you made a "butty" on it didn't you? You got it from Oli for about a grand no?

Yes I made a profit on it, but I sold it still for what it cost me in time, parts and labour. It was incomplete, rusty and every single part had been stripped, rebuilt and refurbed by myself. I paid a fair price for the condition it was in at the time.

What is it on here with people constantly policing what people are charging/paying for machines??? If someone want's to know how far I go when I clean and restore a machine then feel free to ask anyone who actually knows me.

Do it then!! :)
I like the idea of being able to warn others about people not to deal with and who to deal with, but I could see it going downhill really fast especially if the one getting discussed is a member of the forum.

Tough, no exception for forum members. Play nice and you don't get bit.

Blimey Matt, you should speak to @Steve C !!

Not everyone can afford to buy all the latest and best pins.

It's like buying a house, most start off with a small property and over time they do it up and sell it on to get something bigger and better.

I have lots of machines I have made a profit on but they are ones I have owned for ages and then sold. What gets people's backs up is buying from here and then sticking it on eBay within weeks or in some cases days.

Flipping is not good I agree. If people can make a profit on pinball machines then good luck to them really. It's not something that would interest me enough to try. I think you really need to take eBay prices with a grain of salt though. Anyone with any experience of selling on eBay knows that whatever price they think is fair will result in floods of messages offering substantially less. And then eBay's whopping 10% fee.

There's a slight damn difference!!!!

I worked my ass off to restore that machine to as close to immaculate as I possibly could. He has bought it and just sold it.... Am I not allowed to charge the going rate for a machine after all the work and parts I fitted?

Hypocrisy here is widespread and I have NEVER flipped a machine and I never will.

The point is, you don't know if he has/will make a profit on it. It's £2400 or Best Offer which would suggest to me maybe he will take £2K and then possibly minus 10%. Or he will list it for months gradually reducing the price until it finds its market value. Sounds like he bought it to use for reference as someone mentioned earlier and no longer needs it. Either way, who cares? You got the amount you wanted for it. I don't get what the issue is?

Anyway, back to Harry Bolt. How many believe they've been shafted by him? I know of two and have the whiff of others.....

I think a Rogues Gallery is overdue in this hobby. @Cmor111 what do you reckon? I've been around a few pinball years now, sold loads of machines, been shafted, not shafted any others AFAIK.... and know plenty of others who don't do it either.
