It proves how easy it is for Newbies to get fleeced. It's a bargain because someone else has one for over £3K and this one is in "perfect working order".

It's exactly the problem us newbies face. For what's is worth from my perpective as a 'newbie' - trust (as in it is what it says it is) and fair price price are only real priorities. Tricky when you have no experience.

OT.......can't believe one of you boys dosen't want to cash in one of your 'DC premiums when stock price is high?! :)

Cheers

Jon

the second t2 seller could be heading for a big fall

stating she wants to do business through ebay which also means paypal but selling an obviously faulty game when used items under ebay rules should be

Used: An item that has been previously used. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended.

DE Hook just popped up on gumtree, not a bad write up owned since 1994 but wants £2,995 for it???
Even @retrorefurbs is only asking £2,495 for his totally refurbished one!
What's a hook worth about £1000 in good condition maybe less?

You can view the ad at Original 1992 Hook Arcade Pinball Machine in Perfect Working Condition

Retro Refurbs ain't asking a damn thing because Hook sold ages ago, and the asking price wasn't what it sold for. It didn't stay on the market for very long at all. :D

I agree though. This guy on Gumtree is just a chancer trying to rip somebody off. He's probably seen the Hook's retailing at Liberty Games and Home Leisure Direct and thought that's what his was worth, because they're selling them at £3k - £4k as well.

No dis implied or meant checked website before post, I was mearly trying to say that a fully refurbed one was less money than the seller was asking, if you were gonna have a hook it would have been better to have retro Refurbs all day long

Thanks @stoptap , picked one up for my funhouse. Sadly, no superdog plastic though which is the one that usually dies first.

No dissin' taken dude! :)

I think it's still listed on the site. Should probably take that off.

First T2 made £1418????
I have to get rid of my t2 soon. The amount of money I've pumped into it I'd actually be losing quite abit selling it for 2k. Million times better than those on eBay though. I hope somebody viewed it before spending the £1418 on that one.

Second T2 that had board issues, so not fully working, went for £1560....is it just me or is that massively overpriced?

I think it depends on your POV - but whomever bought it is gambling big time - I'd have bid if I could have seen the machine before it closed - I guess you can always bid turn up and if it's in a right old state walk away and say to eBay not as described... Which seems to be the eBay way of things these days.

My T2 was a bit cheaper a few years back and was about the same condition as the 2 just sold. I thought they were about the right price and would need about a £1000 spent on each to bring them up to acceptable condition, you then have a nice T2 for £2500 which is what I would expect to pay for a good one. I think all T2 playfields were Diamond Plated so most survived ok but I would always ask for pics to make sure. Same pricing applies to STTNG but at a higher price.
Do you want the work for £1500 or let somebody do it for you and Pay £2500 plus?

I guess they are paying for the theme as the game itself is very boring after only a short time. That said, i'd rather have T2 over T3 just because of the Arnie 'Shoot here and here' callout that never ends.

I agree, T2 is the only game i can play after a few beers!

Baywatch. £85 is what Martin charges so is top of the range though most of my buyers expect free delivery tbh. guy is offering £125 within M25. if I was to ask £125 with west midlands for instrance id be laughed at

I think £85 delivery is pretty average these days to be honest. I had my first machine delivered through AnyVan.com (never again!). It ended up travelling all around the country for a week in the back of a Polish drivers van with two big containers of red diesel swishing about directly under it :( At least he did help carry it down to my basement though.

I reckon that may well get the asking price. Ok so maybe the batteries have damaged the boards, but those are replaceable or repairable. Popular NIB 90s game at same price as NIB game from today.
