Danger Will Robinson, that LIS has battery damage.

Strange how it goes. £1895:eek: about a grand more than I would go for. Only ever played a few games on one. Not a great machine by any standard but I've played worse. I'd have one for 6 months or so for the novelty.

Sega's are definitely the underdog of the pin world. I've had a Godzilla (it's OK), SST (I like it), BF (OK) and ID4 (I liked it). For me they feel less clunky than DE machines but they picked some real dogs of films for themes. Twister, LIS, BF, Godzilla, SST all presumably thought to be real blockbusters;)

You may recall this High Speed was on at £1k last November and didn't get a bid. I went and looked at the Barracora you can see next to it. Despite some comments on the forum at the time I bought it for half the asking price and have been very pleased with it. I found the seller very helpful and genuine. I only had a quick look at the HS and to be honest I'm such a novice my opinion isn't worth much but externally it looked pretty clean and complete. He inherited these two machines and is honest in saying he doesn't know much about them. He told me his father in law bought them new and kept them at his factory. I believe this to be true based on condition and paperwork he had.

The Completely trashed Playmatic EM that looked as if the playfield had been sprayed with sump oil went for £196 !!! Am I missing something?

like funhouse and space shuttle they tend to be worn out as they were played to death.

ive got a spare playfield somewhere but its probably no better

a waiting game one thinks. see if it gets no bids then offer £££

had one in 1988. came from Llanfairfechan pier along with spannish eyes and doozie. all 3 were on a shelf so no legs. and 5p a go. very hard to complete the drop bank. not bad game for £33.33

They've been trying to sell that lot for years :D Unless you can go to Italy and pick out the specific games you want then I'd steer well clear of it :thumbs:

Don't be put off, but make sure you've examined pictures very closely. Then examine them again.

If you're not prepared/competent to do your own work on them, you probably shouldn't buy, but if you're happy to get your hands dirty and have 10,000 Eur that you're not too bothered about wiring across before seeing them in person, go for it :-)

There are some diamonds in the rough but tread with caution.

If that's the same lot as sends out monthly email with hundreds of pics then don't write them off too soon - I've bought from them and so has @JCRox and we've both had good experiences

@iamjimmi

If you are new to all this, I would suggest that you buy a working game from a known seller on here. You want to cut your teeth on some minor niggles, small repairs etc. a project machine with multiple layers of faults could be too much and kill your enthusiasm

I'm a gambling man and took the risk, over paid on a couple and under on others, but as mentioned earlier inspection of the pictures is all you have to go by and you have to be willing to accept there will be issues to discover and fix. Also I had a punt when the euro was weak making prices acceptable.
