I think your lucky

I don't think it's luck, more being ready to move on a deal immediately  If you have cash ready and can make an assessment in your own mind on a game very quickly then you can get good deals. If you hesitate or go back and ask questions then most of the time you'll miss out as someone like me will just pull the trigger straight away. I think this comes with experience of buying games and is something you build up over time, the key thing being to know when the deal is right or not based on the info you have as soon as it comes up :)

The other part of this is building up a network of contacts who you trust and are happy to deal with. This can come from places like this forum but is best worked on by getting out to shows and league meets and talking to people....this is one of he key things for me when it comes to buying and selling pinball machines :)

I reckon the DW went for around the right amount on ebay. It had issues with the playfield and non working optos as well.

I bought and later sold on a decent DW for around £1200 last year. It's not a popular machine for a lot of people.

its DINE TIME!
bit risky with a totally dead sys 11 as a new set of displays could blow your budget
imagine with project fever it will sell for more than full working ones were making last year

Not to mention potential battery leakage. Those Sys 11 boards aren't cheap or easy to find these days if needed. No doubt his phone has been ringing off the hook already  Diner is on my hit list but this is too far away to get involved in the frenzy.

So the Pink Panther didn't reach its reserve ending at £530. Did anybody find out how much he wanted? I love the theme and would have happily lived with the crazed back glass reflecting its age. I'm glad there is a nice one to play at SWL.

Re PP . I was top bidder as my playfield could be better and his looked nice. Seller had a reserve of £1k. Called him direct and summary is - he has many games and was just trying to raise funds so when the WH20 had an offer he couldn't refuse (lets just say it was TAF money) he was quite happy to keep the PP if it didn't go for enough. I'm still hunting in Europe for these where they are (supposedly) more common. My backglass is better than his was but could be better. if I find a PP in Europe with a better playfield I will be looking to sell on the "leftover" one but its a question of WHEN I can source one abroad. The game wasn't distrubited in the UK - many Gotts over the years weren't. Obviously HH and BH sold in big numbers here other 80s Gottliebs seem quite rare

Top dollar imo. Would have to be very good condition.
Been looking myself and had the same advice. Most people won't sell below 2k as that is "what it's worth". This explains why three sttng (including one with issues) have all been on eBay for a long time

Nice looking STTNG - is this a good price? WIth my LOTR leaving on Friday, thinking about filling the space with STTNG which is a machine I had before and would like again.

As mentioned some time ago in this thread (that's how long this has been up for sale) the seller states "The pinball machine is located in a small upstairs back bedroom and will require the back box, legs and maybe the playfield to be removed to get it downstairs and out of the house by the buyer. (This was how it was installed many years ago!) This is quite a simple task and all the connectors are keyed to prevent mistakes."

Now while the above may not put some people off please bear in mind these are the wide body super pin and are really big& heavy and awkward, I moved one a while back and it was a pain in the ****! And sometimes they don't like to be moved? As much as you label and put back together, they sometimes don't work properly when you put them back together so factor in a bit of head scratching time and possibly money!
It's certainly not a "Martin can you collect me a pinball!" Type of collection

There's s Star Wars appeared on eBay very similar to the one for sale afew days ago on gumtree .. Sadly if it is the case the gumtree one was £1000 and afew days later the eBay but it now is 2500.. Very disheartening all round. Would have been a nice starter pin for someone

I would not want to be doing this on a STTNG  That fact significantly reduces the value of the game IMO.

ST3 is not a £2500 game. I was very happy to get a £1800 buy it now last year for a spare one - the buyer was a (minor) lotto winner - Martin had a good laugh watching the guy direct 6 strong lads carrying it up 4 flights of stairs. on the other hand its not a £1000 game either so would have been nicer for a newbie. being where it was I though Brian Southampton would have been on it like a shot. Its definitely a style over substance game. the translite is better than the DE but the game play is slow and the music drags until you get multiball. I have all 3 SW pins because I love Star Wars. Otherwise the DE is heads above the other 2.

It's not the same one. I just saw Martin and the Bournemouth one is in the back of his van!

I have been looking every day on both ebay and gumtree, would of loved the Starwars, I know its not a great game, but as im a Starwars nut and have a full size R2 unit I would like both the Starwars pins

I like the idea of getting that Diner up and running, but the fact it has been photographed in the rain does not bode well. I would think £500 tops but can see this going for £700-800.
