Love DE games.

Did seem like prices were calming down a bit, but now seems like anything a little leftfield or lesser sighted seem to be commanding crazy money. ...surpassing the more common Bally Williams DMD games.
Rarity commands a higher price.

Rarity commands a higher price.

That's almost never the case, as most rare games (think zac's and other obscure manufactures) are sub £500's

And games like Adams family where the production numbers were the highest ever, fetch the highest prices on ebay

Not the highest.
Games that people want that don't come up for sale command high prices. Thus rare =£

Total speculation but I'm guessing the non-working Whitewater was pulled when someone made a high offer and now has come back on after they went to collect it and discovered..........

Sounds about right John.
But the biding is getting going again on it.

Luke: [on the Millenium Falcon] What a piece of junk!
Han Solo: She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself.
Tbh..... from what can tell from rubbish pics it's not the worst wh20 that has been listed. Amazingly the often battered pop boulders and lock targets look intact.
What it needs to get it running again is unknown of course [emoji3]

Oh god is it that Gaz character? his house is just a cardboard frame propped up by fakery. Probably a scam - gonna shill it and then post out a foam box with bricks in it. and after that lot I expect he will report the 'buyer' to Ebay AND paypal and we the taxpayers will end up footing the bill. Again.

Honestly I don't know why I bother sometimes.

After paragon has found its loving new owner, might Gaz be willing to do a list of all the stupid questions and idiotic suggestions made ? The "I would swap it for a quad bike/ electric guitar/ real Siamese cat/ 300 fence panels" type stuff you get when flogging a pinball on eBay. Or the guy in the Scilly Isles or Shetlands who wants you to bring it to a petrol station half way ........

Indeed why don't we start a new thread - "The dumbest fookin idiots and the unbelievable queries they raised on an eBay posting "

Ha ha Dan. I'd still end it early for the right price
What a Clint I really am. It's ok though coz Grizz is the high bidder at £12.50

I thought ebay charge you the final value fee if you end the auction early? Or was that a myth?

I don't understand this either, when people put in the description 'for sale elsewhere, have the right to end early etc'.

Also, cancelling after the auction has ended - how does that work?

I think you get away with it once. It's just to stop serial offenders. I've only needed to list pinballs on eBay twice in 5 years so It shouldn't affect me.

Nope, all wrong. You can end as many listings as you like. You are only charged the insertion fee - which is a few pennies.

If your item ends and does not sell, you can relist it for free (no insertion fee) once only. Final value fees are only charged when there is a winning bidder, or bought on buy now, or best offer is accepted.

Also, cancelling after the auction has ended - how does that work?

Select "cancel" from the sold items list. The buyer has to mutually agree to cancel the order. Once done eBay refund your Final Value Fees.

Sorry Pete, You;re out of date. Suggest you read the new rules again..... ;)

As others have said, and i got this from the horses mouth so to speak, on a couple of occasions... You are allowed to end ONE item early in a 12 month period (other than certain reasons listed). Other than this, it is seen as "fee avoidance" and ebay reserve the right to charge you a final value fee based upon the price that the auction had gotten to BEFORE it was ended. However, to be fair, i dont yet know anyone that has been charged this...

3 eBay accounts with over 30,000 sales disagree with you, Paul.

The account I sell my pins on for example, in the last 3 months has had 2 pin listings ended by me, and about 7-8 other high value items. I always do deals off eBay. Never been charged FVF's

Hey Pete,

I'm more than happy to hear that they haven't charged you for it - All i was saying is rules is rules, and ebay reserve the right to charge FVF when an item is pulled early. It's in their T&C's and it's gonna happen to someone sooner or later as the Money grabbing so and so's eek every last penny they can out of their clientele...

We strongly discourage sellers to end listings early because it undermines the trust buyers have in the eBay platform. eBay buyers are told that their bids are binding. Equally, buyers expect the auctions they bid on to conclude successfully.

If you end an auction early and buyers have already placed bids, you may be charged a fee. This fee is the same as a final value fee, based on the item price when you ended the auction.

You won't pay a fee if you cancel your auction within the first 24 hours of listing your item, or if we have to end your auction.

Ending a listing early for the following reasons is prohibited as it is consideredfee avoidance:

  • Cancelling bids and ending a listing early because the reserve price hasn't been met to avoid reserve fees. See Reserve Price Policy.

  • Cancelling bids and ending a listing early in order to sell the item off-eBay. You should be aware that as well as avoiding fees, you risk fraud by selling items off the eBay website. If a member writes to you to ask you to sell away from the eBay website, please report them to us.

I'm a little bit surprised and kinda not surprised at all. I'm surprised that eBay don't analyse their data more closely to find sellers that regularly, i.e., more than once or twice a year, end auctions on items with reasonable value relative to the category. Maybe as long as they still make lots of money overall they just can't be bothered.

Fair enough. Strange situation then.

It would seem madness to do that though. What if the item is lost, broken, or stole during the an auction?

Maybe this only applies to actual auction formats, as I mostly do Buy It Now's.

what's your ebay account name, Pete? and no, of course i'm not gonna report it, we look after our own here.
just interested. in fact, i'd like to see some kind of badge or codeword that pinballinfo members could use in their ebay listings, so we all know it's you.

i suggest this: at the end of each listing, 'the sun is shining ...... but the ice is slippery'

It's grinning-reaper

Only thing I've got listed at the moment is this (saves you searching for me) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amek-Tac-...ng-Desk-/301548425297?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Stupid money for a phantom. Back glass is quite funky with proper lighting and I always liked the sound on this one. Gameplay a bit limited though

As an aside, I always find the completed listings page helpful on eBay to see what things actually went for. Though of course, they may have been shilled
