Ebay Auctions 2015

I wouldn't jump to conclusions about shill bids because the one thing I've noticed over the last few months is that all project machines on eBay are now selling for just under what they would in full working condition.

I've seen £800 games selling for near £700 completely broken, no glass or legs even. It's a very strange time in pinball.
the price that flash went for is crazy, that flash gordon the other week went for less and that had all it's boards!

^ This one's been mentioned before; almost as many times as it seems to have been re-listed.

Not that anyone here's likely to bite, but the seller doesn't realise (or doesn't mention, anyway) the lack of sound & speech Roms; Pharoah did have speech (in four Roms), and used Sound Rom 6.

tragic castle! looks like Ive been gazumpt after winning this. after pestering Martin to collect seller sundenly cancels auction saying its stopped working. ive replied saying non working not an issue as have boxes of zac parts and 4 zac games . no reply. obivously someone was really desperate to get on the pinball ladder. we just fancied it to go next to Spooky. suppose is going to get more common now but yould only expect on top games or where BUY IT NOW was low.

Seriously sun damaged - left hand side cab and head, playfield colours faded.

The sticker at top right on the backglass is for Williams french distributor, 'SPD'. This might explain the C220 'ECA' door. And the nasty-looking 'pricing card'.

The Diner my former employer bought new had a triple S10 door, but then it was rejected domestic production, with the door changed. It was faulty out of the box, giving a Test Report of 'Malfunction - Can't Move Wheel' and rushing the High Scores across the displays too fast to be seen properly. The Cpu timing crystal was running at twice normal speed. Even if we'd been the kind of op who'd site it anyway, it would've been tricky for the collection staff, since one brief touch of the Advance button would put it on Audit 4 or 5, missing the coin meter totals altogether.

That White Water which was ending today has just been wiped off the face of the earth.

I find it extremely sh!tty that eBay sees fit to remove items without notifying the bidders or at least providing some explanation to the item's disappearance!

looks like there is GI problems...
maybe ramp flasher stuck on..
middle plastic broken
but i am tempted..

Is it not the sellers that take it down?

No, when the seller ends an item the page is still accessible and shows item has ended.

When eBay takes down an item you get a blank page with an error message saying "item 123456789 has been removed". There's no evidence of what the item even was.

That really bugs me.. how ebay just disappear an item like it never existed in the first place

The seller seemed to be some kind of clearance firm or something didn't they? Can't remember now but I guess we're still in the dark about the current value of an non working WH20.

Not a clearance firm, it's Staffordshire County Council's procurement team who were selling it. Was having a bit chin wag with them on the old email. The game was in some kind of youth community centre place I think.

What's most disturbing however, is that the price was creeping up to £1500 and this is for a completely broken game which is not only coming off route but it's been in a place full of teenagers who probably kicked, punched, and abused the life out of it. I put a silly max bid in of 1200 and it went way past that.

I would like a Diner some day but not at 850+ in that condition.

Agreed, I love diner, but for some reason people selling them on ebay have unreasonable expectations. I think the last 4 on UK ebay (this year) did not sell for their opening price.

At last! People are recognising that Data East is the best pinball manufacturer there ever was

Still though, that's alot of money for a JP

Indeed its good to see DE getting some love (because they ARE better than Bally/Williams) but wow the price of pins is really spiralling out of control lately. I thought a good JP was £1200 max.

Recently - Star Wars, Guns 'n' Roses, Back To The Future, Tales From The Crypt, and Last Action Hero have all gone for insane prices. Now JP is joining that list.

Seems like supply and demand is at an all time worst!

A lot of these problems would be cured if eBay still charged seller's fees on listings.

Too many chancers and idiots put rubbish up for sale at stupid prices and at zero cost to themselves. You keep seeing the same pins coming back again and again, so you know something is awry.

It is a shame, as eBay has migrated from being an auction site to a buy it now fest where folk advertise at daft prices and you don't know whether they actually want a cash deal off eBay to avoid paying their fees, or whether they are clueless fookwits chancing their arms.

It is all too shady nowadays

So what's a 100% working white water going for?
Non eBay prices.

Not sure non eBay but average eBay prices according to Pinpedia for the UK are anywhere from £1400 to £1800. Obviously upper end will be the nicest ones.

Pinpedia is a great read. I'd love to know the backstory to some of those sales. Sold prices range from £200 (Ive's?) to £3500:eek:

Wh20 seems to be a title that used to come up a lot but then only 3 have hit the bay in the last 18 months.

things go in cycles. You used to be able to guarantee a Demolition Man for sale every week on ebay but I haven't clocked one for a while.

Love DE games.

Did seem like prices were calming down a bit, but now seems like anything a little leftfield or lesser sighted seem to be commanding crazy money. ...surpassing the more common Bally Williams DMD games.
