In fact I'd offer a partial refund, I wouldn't tell him the amount. I'd then go through the unpleasantness of having a pound coin up my **** all day prior to posting it
Or go one better and do what my mate does the Jiffy Bag Man, the goes for a vindaloo the night before and makes sure the jiffy is airtight ;)

I love how the "oh it'll never sell for that much" crew on here get proved wrong time and time again.

re ebay fiasco(s). new consumer law comes in force today

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34403005

key point is line

The Act also covers second-hand goods, when bought through a retailer

ebay count as a retailer. we should all be very careful selling coin op games through ebay as by there nature they are unrealiable and unscrupulous buyers could demand a refund on an item that is bound to have some sort of minor fault delelope within 30 days. key advise is use it as a shop front and take a cash offer. EVERY TIME

I interpreted that article differently - that it applies where there is a retailer (or in ebay terms, a "business seller") of second hand goods, and they use ebay or Amazon as their marketplace. Where a business seller is (per ebay's definition):

"How do I tell if I am a business seller on eBay?

You would typically qualify as a business seller if you:
buy goods to resell on eBay
sell goods which you have manufactured
regularly sell large amounts of goods
sell identical or similar items (especially new and unused items) over a long period of time"

It's not obvious to me how 'retailer' is defined in that BBC article, but I think it means a business - but I could be wrong...

Considering a lot of people here seem to have a pretty negative view of eBay/fleaBay I'm surprised anyone uses it other than a wide-reaching shop front. How strict are eBay about how often you end listings early? And private sales don't sting you with a 10% fee. Plus a fat wodge of cash can't be clawed-back by PayPal or CC ;)

Surely you can just draft a simple no returns contract that can be digitally signed via email or by hand and witnessed on collection/delivery. Stating that the item is sold as is, no returns, faults will be the new owners responsibility etc.

Good machine or is it one to get easily bored of?
Impossible to answer, everyone is different, some love it, some don't ;). But generally it has a good rep (e.g. it's always high on the pinside 10-100 ranking). It's wide body, so it's a heavy mo-fo, and that extra playfield space can make it feel a bit slow compared to a normal body. I enjoyed it when I had one.

Its a bit marmite - depends who you ask. Was thinking of selling mine at one point to make room for a new pin, then played a few games and I'm hooked again.

On the other hand I know at least one person who would rather insert his manhood in a blender than play it.

Did you buy that one off Gumtree bandit boy?
Was exchanging emails with the guy but he's done a thicken on me and sold it to somebody else, never mind....
Save trying to explain to the wife why i've bought another and a ride to cheshire..

It'll probably be available on ebay tomorrow for £2-3k anyway...sigh

Wouldn't mind but i was asking a few questions to which he replied once then...Sorry, gone!!

You snooze, you loose!!

With it being such a good price I was being cautious of it being a scammer!

STTNG is excellent if you get a good one and it clicks, had a couple, 1st one was the best, wished I'd never sold it (went for peanuts), couldn't bond with the 2nd one, doubt I will own another, too Fu%*£G heavy.

Can't make up my mind about STTNG. Think I've had mine for 6 years or so. Go through periods of loving it but then stop playing it. Lots of bang for your buck with the cannons etc.

Feel better already, thx guys for the replies, maybe a good thing I didn't bother.

Think I'll save up and bide my time and buy CFTBL off one of you guys one day or TAF. They're my all time first loves of this pinball adventure.
