I've setup our Lost World, but I can't seem to get it working I'm a total noob so I'm not sure where to start.

First thing you should have done is check the voltages before everything was attached. You would be very lucky for it to boot first time after being stored for so long

Also check your mpu board for battery leakage it will probably need rebuilding.

It turns on and we get a few lights but that's about it.

So you have GI and it's not booted. How many flashes does the mpu do?

1 little blink when it turns on and then two proper length flashes.

Is that the U8 chip? - I've tried re-seating it but I don't have a spare to replace it. Sometime when I boot up now I get a solid green light instead of flashes. If I wiggke the connectors on the MPU board a bit it goes back to two flashes instead. Previous leakage doesn't seem to be a problem because the affected areas are brushed down to bare copper.

I've reseated all those chips now but still no luck. Now I usually get garbled sound (briefly or consistently) and a solid green MPU light. Would buying one of these are replacing the U8 chip be a likely fix:

Hey all. So my Dave Rolfe Strikes n Spares machine arrived today and even though I have no idea if and when i will get it working I love it! From looking at the photos one of the members shared of one of the last tournaments Dave held I can see that it was used in that as it still has the sticker on the back box. I will post some photos below, and will start slowly tinkering on days off. No idea where to start but no rush. Photos attached including rat poo in coin return slot! Thought youd all like that! One day when this is up and running its going to give my family a lot of happiness. So thanks to Elaine and Pinball Daze for organising it. Most of all thanks to Dave Rolfe.

Just found some of Dave's old notes in my machine. Looks like a list of things he was aiming to repair. Could be handy to those who bought flash gordon, vector, eight ball as it lists some issues.
