Many thanks to @SeikoKid for my Rush scoop
Protectors.
As you probably know, the scoop at launch was getting battered pretty quick around the playfield edge. The standard metal fix for this didn’t really hold up:

Then Stern released this beast to protect the area:

Finally someone on pinside released their Ninja scoop protector made from highly durable TPU, unfortunately his pinside shop no longer operates but @SeikoKid can make these for you.
Works really well and looks great 👍 Thanks

I always thought Stern added that extra bit to the front scoop to make the game harder.

I remember playing one not long after it came out and scoop shot was ridiculously easy to hit, like you didnt even have to try to get it in, it would just drop in, having the bumpers there makes the shot harder to hit.

I found it an easy shot with the bumpers on the side but there’s no big benefit to it being easy, it’s not used for big point scoring or extra balls (that’s the side scoop). They may have thought it would reduce how often the ball drops in accidentally and therefore reduce wear?
Either way I much prefer the look without it.
