12” vinyl - share your new buys, old classics etc

Marvel at the sheer hideousness of this bad boy!

What the actual **** is going in with that cover art? I’m not certain if the weird headless sword guys are better or worse than the pink background.

It’s also got an utterly schizophrenic track list. Who the hell would pair a Hanoi Rocks track next to an early Metallica number? Who were Jaguar and do they really have a track called “Axe Grazy”. Is the G just a misprint or a minor injury?

Worse thing about it? I’ve kind of wanted to own a copy since the mid 80s🤣

Great track list on side one. Love most of them - Great songs.
Yup ****e "artwork". Even AI would do better

I am fast falling into this vinyl addiction. Buying things from the 90’s that I bought on CD because at the time it was more practical.
My amp allowed bi-amp, as did my speakers, so it has two of the internal amps separately dealing with HF vs LW. I rewired the vinyl player, properly sorted out the earthing, and now the experience is a massive leap from listening to songs on alexia.
My next step is to empty the room of unwanted furniture, TV and family, then enjoy listening to music properly.

Only recently decided to start rebuying vinyl but the pressing quality leaves a lot to be desired compared to the 70s stuff. Had several brand new albums that skip appallingly. I’m reluctant to adjust the tone arm further as it will carve up the vinyl.

It’s frustrating as well that a £30 brand new lp already “pops” when playing it for the first time. Guess I’ve been spoilt by CDs and even streaming about background noise.

Bought a wildhearts lp that came direct from the label fully sealed but with visible light scratches across the surface.

On the other hand I am loving the attention to detail that some bands put in. The last album from “The Halo Effect” is an absolutely beautiful package.

It’s very much a bottom end system from Richer Sounds with a Denon turntable.

I know myself well enough to know I get obsessed for a while and then move on. I’ve got thousands of CDs in the attic that haven’t been played for well over ten years.

Ive noticed the same with the odd new album too. Had a couple which were somewhat less than flat as well (Got a project debut 2 with and ortofon cart).

I watched an “interesting” video on YouTube about the pressing plants. They should change the master plate every thousand? I think. But some don’t bother hence the **** sound.
I think the Japanese pressings are changed every 500 which is why people love them.

I think it is time for me to get your advice on a good vinyl cleaner. I have some classic stuff that is dirty and I can hear how it is different from other stuff, so not the stylus.

I initially got a disco antistat that did work but had a bonus in December.
Whenever I get a bonus I always get summat I want but wouldn't normally cos of the price.
I got a humminguru from Juno records- bonus as ya can buy vinyl at the same time 😃

Very happy with it. Did a test - antistatic first, played it, then did humminguru clean then played again.
Definitely an improvement .
Tho it should be due to the price difference!!

Love that band with Fish.

Not with Hogart.

He is a good singer but its a different band.

Bit like Van Halen/Van Hagar (actually bad example as I like both!)
Just read Alex van halens boring dull book which tells u nothing , doesn’t even mention Sammy ….. gripped at the mo with hangars book !!

Hi vinyl lovers, been a while 😁

Did a reggae/house vinyl set with my son and a few others in Swansea on Saturday, probably the best free event that day😂🔥
Second one for me there this year, last time I DJ’d with vinyl was in the 80’s! Played some I bought in the 80’s, seems like people loving vinyl again😎

Place was rammed for most of the evening, great day. Oh and vinyl seems to play ok when covered in puddles of rainwater 🌧️😂 I did warn them that the cover wasn’t quite right, the centre was collecting water so someone pushed it up and it came down onto my shoulder and splashed over the record playing😂

Son was wearing his QPR top😍

Yeah I have a dub siren if you spotted it🚨
