For Sale – Pinball collection – 64 Machines!

Pinball collection for sale due to retirement. The collection belongs to my Father-in-Law and due to circumstances I have been asked to advertise his collection with his permission. I would like to offer the collection to enthusiasts via this forum before going down the E-bay route.

The machines are in storage and it will take a lot of time to test, photograph and detail the condition of each one therefore whilst I respect the rules of this forum it would help me greatly to get a list of the machines that people are interested in and focus on them, possibly ignoring the rest until the collection has been thinned down a bit (there are more machines but I haven’t been able to get to them all yet!)

The price will be dependant upon condition and I really need to test them before committing to a price but the machines will be sold at fair market value. Prices will be posted publicly once I know the ones that people are interested in and have fully tested and inspected them.

If the machine is listed twice it is because there are 2 of them. The location is Burton on Trent, Staffordshire.

If you are interested in any of the machines please E-mail me at joanne_peaches@yahoo.co.uk.

Many Thanks
Jo

Jojo,

If you guys need a hand to go through these and check them out then please let me know. I'm only in Birmingham, so fairly local, and it would be really interesting to see all these in one place, not to mention the experience just to help out!

I had to admit, you lot were really lucky - When jojo mailed to ask why she couldn't post since she had 64 machines to sell (each user is still individually checked here before being allowed to join because of spammers), i nearly said "I'll take em all" - then i realised that i hadn't won the lottery.... :( ;)

Paul

now now Paul, you know there's an orderly queue for the lottery win. get behind me you bastard.
who's at the front of the queue anyway?

Same as you Dave, I got a response on the day I mailed saying they'd get back to me but nothing so far

Hi Paul

Thank you for your offer the other day of being able to come round and help go through the machines and check the condition. It would be really great if you could come round if your offer still stands, if it is ok just PM me to arrange a date and time.

Many Thanks
Jo

P.S everyone really sorry still working on prices my father in law has been really busy at work and trying to tie him down to do prices this week has been tough, i will keep nagging him to get it done i will get there:)

Paul

I'm only in Uttoxeter and your father in law bought a couple of them from me. If you need help, I can pop round no problem. I've also sent a PM

Hi all,
If you have received this email you have enquired about all or part of my collection of pinballs.

History. I own a small printing company and have an interest in pinballs. We make various products including calendars. We have a programme called XPie (google it). It is the programme that allows personalisation from a spread sheet with text scratched in snow, on the beach in shells etc. We purchased a printer with excess capacity and thought it would be a good idea to produce a series of calendars with personalisation in the pinball type style around the flippers, bumpers etc., using images of pinballs as the main image - by and large you get porn or country scenes on calendars so this would be a tad different. As often happens, business went in a different direction (labels) and now we just need the space. The pinballs made three impressive banks in our second under-used factory building and was always a good feature for visitors. Unfortunately having just purchased a dedicated label printer (google jetrion 4900 colorscan), I need the space.

SELLING . When my daughter in law advertised these on a pinball forum I was expecting the odd enquiry eventually - not an avalanche of interest. To make space for new equipment (the reason for the sale) we have pushed them into corners etc and frankly there is no way we can take sensible photographs of anything like the number of pinballs that I have enquires on at present. I can clear a corner out over the week-end, putting a group of 8 into a container and then move one at a time into the space and check it over and if it is OK any-one who wants it can buy it - I am looking for about 85% of an ebay auction price - that is the sensible prices not the stupid prices - any one who wants to pay £700.00 for big ben get in touch NOW. However, I will price the pinball's one at a time as I check them over and I am satisfied they are working (or not) and that the staff have not dropped their coffee into them. I will work on the one's that people have expressed interest in first.

GENERAL PRICING. Most are in the £500.00 - £850.00 range. Some are obviously rather more - TAF is a £2K good example and actually rather better than the one in my games room at home - I did plan to swop it out but do not have the time. Ripley's, T3, High roller (well one of them) and Road Show are also excellent. There are some other good examples in better than
average condition. At the other end of course we have Big Ben, works well, ding, ding, dong, dong, slow, slow, (I like it, rather nostalgic) and if you like it and the others at the low end fine - these are in the £150 - £450.00 range together with the faulty ones. I value the total collection at £43,000.00 as is, probably about £50,000 with a bit of cleaning and TLC. I would accept £38,000 for the whole collection as it stands - no offers, it is not going to happen. Please note that I personally own the pinballs, not the company so there is no VAT to be added to the above prices or for that matter any VAT to be reclaimed by a trade buyer. Payment strictly cash (the folding stuff!) I would also consider a part exchange involving any of the more recent pins (from and including Lord of the Rings, 2003).

PROPOSAL However, I do also have a proposal, if any-one is interested and local. We are based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire and are currently working 7 days and will be until Christmas. I have enough grief at the moment keeping up with production without checking pinballs. If a person or persons with good technical knowledge wished to go over them for me - as I said we can make a space to work in by moving some into containers, and also sort out the sales (I have a whole pile of enquires plus there is always ebay) then I would be happy to come to some financial arrangement. By and large we are talking about making sure any duff rubbers and lights are replaced, they are clean and fully working because they make more money when working (and if not the fault is identified for would be purchasers). With the exception of a few all were purchased and tested fully working and have since been used. They have come from a variety of people, some private incl. two good examples from FIREINMYSOUL, some trade inc two from PINBALLHEAVEN and some from Pinball Ireland. Some would benefit from a bit of TLC to add value, some are pretty immaculate, 3 HAVE SERIOUS FAULTS, most are just average for their age. I WOULD REQUIRE A REFERENCE FOR TECHNICAL COMPETENCE & CHARACTER.

To show the issue with taking photographs attached are a couple - they have been pushed into various corners just to get them out of the way and like most things when there is not a lot of space, they get empty boxes etc stuffed on top of them. Until three months ago they looked rather good in three playable banks - now they look a mess. Unfortunately I never took any pics when I should have.

Best regards

Keith Forster
