Car porn

Crazy that BMW would bother. I take it the car was something special Rob?
No not at all. It was one of the photos I posted earlier in the thread. Just a bog standard 328 convertible. 10 years old by the time I even posted it. They have one hell of an anal legal department that feels the need to justify their existence.

Wow my old Yaris would have loved that and probably killed me😂
Nothing like getting out of your car and shaking with so much adrenaline pumping😎
Trust me Dave.......if ever there was a road made for that wee Yaris Asbo-Special......this is it!

Thats mental....am I missing out on some royalties? 🤣

That pic was taken at the Stoneleigh Show in 2011. Seems like a lifetime ago. Its an annual pilgrimage for a load of us from up here. Looking forward to these things being back on now after Covid wiped all that out.

Such a great shape the GT40s......one of the best. I've even had this up at Applecross (if you petrolheads haven't heard of this then you need to check it out!). Link below (if it works).View attachment 165524

It's an absolute beauty. It's this one, right?

Similar thing JT, just different manufacturer. I think if I ever did it again I might just buy one already built! It was a lot of hours in the garage with my mates......they are a lot happier to just come round, play pinball and use the beer machine now!

Some of mine

had one of these for a while - epic car although the gear box and clutch had a direct line to the bank manager

Picked up the new wheels earlier this week - whilst the front is no oil painting the car drives insanely well…

Always been a petrol head had a Mk2 escort when I was 15 and used to restore it when getting back from school.
Been into Jags since I was a kid and my dad started racing a MkX when I was 6.
I bought the 3.8 Mk2 when I was 21 with the intention of turning it into a race car but I was offered the Mk1 a few months later so sold the Mk2 to my dad and it later appeared on wheeler dealers.
I raced the Mk1 for a season then it went into storage for many years now it’s undergoing a full restoration back to its factory spec of perl grey steel wheels and a 2.4

Quick car insurance related question, I have just sold my car and as such, I have cancelled my insurance, however now I can’t drive other vehicles and after two years my ncb will be wiped out, any ideas of a work around or idea what’s best to do to in this situation, the driving other vehicles bit albeit third party is very handy to me plus I don’t want to loose my ncb,

Cheers

I had the same problem, but fortunately my dad had picked up an old Nissan Micra, that he just had on his drive while he doing some work on it. So I just transferred my insurance to that vehicle so I didn't lose my NCB. I was told it would be lost if I didn't insure a car within 6 months. Might be worth picking up a cheap car even if you don't intend to use it.

It’s storing the thing that’s the issue

Andy that second pic is fantastic....proper sideways moment. Its great to see these cars still being used in anger. Hard things to drive too on skinny tyres etc. Respect!

Can we see some more of the 55? 😍
The 55 Bell Air got me into owning my first pinball machine, took it in part payment on the restoration i done for one of my customers, so it's not my car. Went right through it, engine rebuild, disc brakes with servo, lowered etc, bit of a dog to start with , but turned out ok, bit of a nightmare sourcing parts, still needs a few bits of interior trim but it is used regularly, it's even toured Scotland from here down in south Wales

Now 25 years old, my daily drive for the last 22 years..!

Well when not in lock down or working from home. Been a few times to Le Mans for the 24 hour and also took it to the Dutch Pinball Masters! :D

Just found this from the Dutch Pinball Masters trip on facebook:
TVR to DPM 2016.jpg

Took 9 hours to get there thanks to traffic and 7 hours back, in the torrential rain all the way through France.
