With the weather being so nice I got my cleaning stuff out and gave my car its first serious clean and polish of 2022. Any other petrol/electric heads on here? Post pics of your prized possessions here :)

Quite original with a few hunted OEM parts. Bought from one lady owner, my grandparents neighbour. The first Beetle I remember seeing as kid and sold to me for what they paid for it new.
Detailed to extreme levels for family weddings.

RS turbo facing it was my brother in laws but it was a nightmare. He scratched the itch and moved on.
We have had a fair few MK2 Golf GTi’s as well.
This had a lot of work done by me to take it from eBay basket case to tidy example before a angry and slightly drunk driver destroyed it whilst it was parked.

My first "clean and polish" of 2022 took 7 hours
The first deep clean of the year is always the longest, but providing you've put a coat of hard wearing wax on, the remaining cleans this spring/ summer should be a lot quicker.

That's fantastic :)
Thank you. You can’t see much of it but there’s a 1973 Porsche 914 engine in there. Originally 2.0L but now more like 2.8 after a lockdown rebuild. Needs to go on rolling road to get accurate bhp but it’s great fun to drive.

I kept swapping between beetles and mk2 GTis so the latest beetle is a mash up of both to try and stop me swapping every two years. Beetle has mk2 GTi seats all recovered in golf plaid fabric and the brakes and suspension all uprated to take the additional horsepower. I'm still in touch with the new owner of my last GTi in case he ever sells but I think my new hobby may have drained available funds.

Currently, although the Nissan is at a mate's garage having all the good bits (522BHP rebuilt engine, gearbox, running gear etc..) transferred into a "new" rust-free body:

I miss my petrol head days these where my babies back in the day!
I bet you wish you'd held onto the R34GTR given the prices these days!
We went the R32 route as we couldn't afford an R34, and at £35k at the time thought them overpriced!!

My old neighbour had a beautiful R34 but sold it to set up a new heating engineer business that he decided 6 months later wasn't for him. DOH!

Only got this one at the mo. My mate spoiling it with his cheesy grin, lol. Too busy driving it to take the good pics but i'll get some better ones in the near future.

Yesterday was my first proper full 'home roads' drive on full boost with all the problems sorted. Loved every second.
