X Men - and apparently people like it. (and me too now :))

Theme is actually a big one for me. This was the first game based on theme and layout was almost an instant preorder but decided to wait it out...

That's why when Robotgregs's came up I snapped it up instantly. I'm actually pretty happy with where code seems to be already, I'm not the best player and neither are my friends and family so the chances of us seeing a wizard mode are pretty low so more enhancements closer to the start button is a win in my books.

I've even re-read the days of future past comics and have continued on from there too, I can't wait to get my hands on it 😄

I think I'm the same with the code mate. I'm not cursed with ability so I'm not in a position to complete more than four modes in a single game anyway.

If you love the comics then I suspect you'll love the game . . . it's addictive.

Brilliant new interview on Gonzo's channel with Enzo and Waison:

Some upcoming highlights:
- Both wizard modes are coming, first one is 'far in development' implying it'll be relatively soon
- New future mode is coming in between what's current, and the wizard mode.
- Danger Room enhancements coming to have more than just the 3 level ups in there, very elusive to what it was.

Waison is very passionate about the theme and did a pretty good job on the interview, clearly very reserved about giving too much away and over promising. Worth a watch / listen.

I started watching it last night, will watch the rest with a beer tonight.

Ok I put a good 3 hour session into Uncanny X-Men yesterday and the 'one more game' pull is strong with this one.

I feel like I typically finish 2 missions while playing at the moment and get to the future every other game so pretty poor as far as you guys are concerned I'm sure but my very last game I was 1 shot away from starting Save the City MB for the first time, it was right there... It feels like a mini-wizard mode on this game because the shots are insane.

I do need to dial it in a bit more, my auto plunge seems worse than the first time I played it, the sentinel head shot bricks somewhat often (and was the last shot I needed despite being labelled the 'easiest one', and my x-jet shot doesn't clear the danger room ramp either, just smacks the metal ramp and rejects hard. Oh and also my cerebro arm lock seems very stiff, when it releases it does it very slowly.

I'll spend some more time on those tweaks next time I get a chance but despite those things feeling really positively about the game, can't wait to see how the updates change the game further.

Had a couple of very new pinball players around from work for a little lunch and pinball break today and they loved it.

Loved the shots, enjoyed the crazy layout and the approachable code. Compared to Godzilla next to it they said 'its a lot more beginner friendly because you can get into a mode easier so feels like I'm achieving more than I am on Godzilla'

They definitely played more X-Men than Godzilla and because the games are quicker they were able to get a load in before we scurried back to the office.

Really enjoying it, even if I still haven't seen save the city mb once yet!

New Deflector kit for the Left ramp in stock

If anyone is having the flipper hop issue Stern will send you out a kit if you email them. I can trap up fine when the ball gets stopped but do sometimes get a very small hop if it just runs through.

No idea what's in it or if it works but I've requested one anyway.

service@sternpinball.com you'll need to send address, phone no and serial number of the game
I have the raidenmods one, it works well although looks a little out of place, interested to see what Sterns fix is.

Raiden is also working on a fix for the auto plunger lift behind the beast lab too.

If he can fix the washer behind the sentinel too I think he'd have almost single handedly resolved most issues whilst waiting for stern.

Flipper hop fix just arrived from stern. It's a traditional inch wide steel ball guide to be installed over the top of the current curved bar. Looks simple enough to fit. View attachment 277680
That's certainly one way to do it... I've heard stern also have a danger room acrylic fix you can get to stop the ball jumping out, not an issue I've had but I wonder how much these after release fixes have cost them at this point.

Still loving the game, got the full suite of raidenmods on their way as he has a fix for the auto plunge issues with the lip at the back and the sentinel head ramp now, will report back when they're in the machine in the coming weeks.

Ahhh, that makes sense.

Mine jumped out of the danger room but I didn't know it wasn't supposed to.

I just fitted the ball guide flipper hop fix. It does the job really well ( pity they didn't get it right to begin with!). No ball hop now and the ball dropping from the cerebro ramp/lock drops nicely and can be cradled. Easy to fit, only issue is the inlane plastic is super tight and hard to get off the threads, it would be easy to damage getting it off so be careful.

Anyone know what the wizard modes are as I was playing earlier and listening to music not really paying attention and ended up playing for about 45 minutes and I can’t figure out if I got to a wizard mode or not I completed 5-6 modes and got to the future 3 times I think but ended up with this score

Great score. I don't think there are any wizard modes in there yet.. I recently had a 1.1B game and completed all 8 modes so you obviously scored a lot better than I did with less modes. As far as I know there's just the 8 modes, the future, to me my X-Men multiball and save the city. I guess they could call save the city a mini wizard mode but it's quite simple to get to so probably not.
Also there's sentinel multiball.

Have I forgotten anything?

Picked up an X-Men whilst the code is still being developed.

Got rid of the god awful black rubbers. Still got a few posts and two rings left to do at back of playfield. Using the new Titan translucent stuff on main flippers.

Welcome @Alpha1 to the club!

The game is fantastic and brutal yet when you have a cracking game it makes you feel like a god.

I'm still waiting on the couple mods from Raidenmods, and the ball hop and danger room deflector kits from Stern but worth having a look down those avenues or ask if you've got any specific issues as most things have been solved by now.

It doesn't appear to have any of the field kits. I'll reach out to Stern.

Game needs code! So many cool code opportunities can be put into this such as multi ball hold at Cerbero left hold. Ball lock on the finger on left side. Stuff like RoadShow bridge out modes, general RoadShow-esque ramp modes in general!, doing some sort of HS2 supercharger mode in the danger room stuff.

Loads of opportunity.

I'm really enjoying mine now hence why I haven't lowered the price further in the for sale thread. Looking forward to code updates.

I honestly think at your price point it's a brilliant pick up.

The next code update given everything we've heard about the rescoping, reworking the future, Mike Vinikour and Gomez's involvement, it should be a good one.

Is there a link to where I can read this stuff?
Lots of different sources on that stuff:
- Reworking the future is coming in the next code update, source is the 'May Stern state of union newsletter' (https://sternpinball.com/2025/05/06/stern-of-the-union-address-may-2025/)
- Mike Vinikour and Gomez involvement was talked about by Gomez on the triple drain podcast in an interview (Around the 1:59:30 mark if I recall correctly:
)

And then the 80 pages of pinside if you can filter through the nonsense on the owners club thread

Jack posted on Facebook earlier that he, Mike and George are working hard together to make Xmen the best it can be, please be patient and thank you was the end of the message.

Finally reporting back on the Raidenmods. I've now got:

- The ball hop fix
- The sentinel ramp guide
- auto plunge fix
- Sentinel mouth piece for stuck balls

To be 100% honest, I can't recommend any of them.

Ball hop guide works and is perfect, but doesn't look great and stern fix now exists... Although stern told me to contact my supplier and as it's second hand I guess that's that done.

Sentinel ramp, yeah it's fine... Does it help with those slight un-clean shots behind sentinel on the left? Yes, I had a lot less rejects now but don't expect to suddenly be able to backhand that shot from the left flipper with this thing.

Auto plunge fix - again, yes it's slightly better but I mean 1 ball out of 20 for me, £30 for a 5% difference isn't the miraculous 100% fix I was hoping for. I also still have plunges completely bricking at the back even with this thing in so it was never going to be 100% at least on mine.

And finally sentinel mouth piece, yeah I haven't had a ball stuck in the sentinels mouth since, but it occured twice out of 100 games for me and in the space of waiting for the ball save to kick in you lose the artwork as this plastic piece fully replaces it, and let's more light through which looks like he's always shooting at you when the jaw is down, again, fine, but it doesn't really add much if anything.

These are my personal opinions after installing and playing a handful of games so it may improve but save your cash folks, this ain't it.
