What the hell do Stern do about such a toxic situation? The man hasn't been convicted yet but can you really release a new game that he's been working on? For the average sited machine it would probably make little difference as people don't know about designers but the home market could be very different. Do they just ignore it and go ahead anyway? People are still willing to watch new Roman Polanski films or listen to the Who or overlook Bill Wyman and the Wild Child issues. Even the President of the US continued to use Gary Glitter songs after being told exactly who the man was.

Do they just scrap Iron Maiden? Can they even work on code updates for GB now?

A **** situation all round:(
 
You know everytime I saw him I thought he looks a "wrong un".
 
Holy $hit. That's really thrown a spanner in the works. Stern have some difficult decisions ahead. It's a real fu#ked up situation they're in now.

I don't really see it like that. Yeah it's sh1te don't get me wrong but he'll be suspended pending trial, fired when guilty, current project moved sideways to other developers, name never mentioned again, company moves on. Simples. o_O

Isn't Iron Maiden supposed to be just about finished though ?
 
Were it up to me, convicted paedophiles would face the harshest possible penalty.

BUT this guy has not been convicted yet. And also, I am getting increasingly suspicious about things like dna "evidence", computer hard disc "evidence".

Computer hard discs are easily accessed by hackers, viruses etc. And I do not know how rigorously the authorities interrogate them.

By means of example, in the late 90s a colleague of mine in a large accountancy firm was hauled before the IT department for accessing porn on his pc. The actual incident happened during a fire alarm, so someone had set him up. He was exonerated.

At the same firm we had a student intern who was an IT wizard. He actually handed the head of IT his administrator password one day to show how incompetent he was. This kid had put some software on his pc that grabbed the administrator's password.

That being said, remember to separate the games from the guy, as loathesome as the thought may be, the games haven't done anything wrong.

Or don't, I don't mind. If this leads to flash sales of CftBL tables for £100 then I'm not gonna stop you
 
Agreed, if proven guilty heniuos crimes, however pin wise one man don't make a game - mechanical engineers,software guys,sound engineers,speech engineers, makers of the games etc - he was only lead designer.
TAF would not be the same without LED and others, ACDC ditto without Lyman atc
Happily elbow in the head anyone who has comitted crimes related to children,and then some- I am a father myself, but innocent until prove nguilty - either way not looking good, but lets look beyond one guy, at least pin wise

Completely agree with the last 2 posts. Steve Ritchie put it well during the recent SW reveal, watch from 1:14:15s for about a minute, sounds like he's slightly embarrassed that he keeps getting all the credit for the games he was the lead designer on. I've heard him say that little speech a few times.

 
In my humble opinion, anyone who messes with kids should be thrown into jail to rot. Along with people that watch it.

I also do believe in 'innocent to proven guilty' but my gut feeling is judges do not allow warrants to search peoples homes for child abuse materials without evidence. Also police do watch these people for a long time.

Read he is 'out on bail'

This podcast is well worth listening to. I think this guy speaks a lot of sense.
