For Sale Winchester Mystery House from Barrels of Fun

It is Spooky's philosophy moving forward, Bugs words not mine but they want their customers to be able to sell on their games to buy their newest releases without loosing their ass on their previous Spooky purchase, its a way of them to look after their existing/core customers.

The reality is this hobby is not going to grow until prices come back down, there are some super fans that will buy a pin here and there. Bond 50th, MET, Evil Dead, Rush (yes even Rush) there's probably other titles that have brought someone in for that "one off" purchase, maybe an even smaller percentage of those have brought a second, third pin but they have got the money to do so. The vast majority of people are not paying these prices on a regular basis other than Pinball enthusiasts/collectors.
This is what Bug basically said to us yesterday. They are seeing first hand what people are saying in terms of numbers and in regards games being re-released. Speaking to them, you realise they have a completely different mindset to other pinball company’s in terms of game numbers.

The next game will be 999. They may at some point go to 1200 but they will never re-release or do a anniversary/speicai editions as they don’t want to **** there customers off.

They may do a really limited run of a future game but haven’t decided yet. They want to try and keep the value of their customers games as high as possible so limited numbers is the way forward. Plus they have learnt a lot from their previous mistakes.

He said they could have made more EDs but expressed that they are not in this business to be super rich and they don’t live lavish life styles like some other manafactuers. His exact words were “as long as we make enough to pay the bills, keep the lights on l, feed our dogs and have fun that’s all that matters”

In terms of BOF good luck to them. It’s obviously the low build number and game itself has definitely created a lot of buzz and interest in the industry/hobby

I like what they say but in all fairness spooky have the most limited numbers already but I would say the worst residual value of all manufacturers bar home pin

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to the price of Evil Dead on the secondary market over the coming couple of years. It feels like quite a lot of them sold over here.

Anyone who has owned a previous Spooky, apart from possibly TNA, is gonna have had their fingers burnt and will not be jumping into anything from Spooky regardless of how good Evil Dead is. I swore I'd never buy another Spooky machine after the one I owned! Evil Dead is great, really genuinely liked it, and temptation is definitely there, but they have not ticked the reliability box for me personally. In contrast, Barrels of Fun have done amazingly well. I honestly never lifted my playfield once to fix anything in Labyrinth. Regardless of whether people loved or hated Lab, zero faults from a new company is a huge achievement in my eyes. Dune was awesome too! I'm really looking forward to playing their 3rd game.

Well I doubt it will be worth as much as people think, there always a newer shinier game

Evil dead prices will drop in price for sure. Once the new game gets announced next month ED will be old news.

Looking at the ones loaded in the container, I think there will be 15 to 20 in total once they arrive in the UK

It’s a sad day in pinball when you just look at the game as an investment / resale value. They should be made to create maximum profit for the manufacturer and to be played by people! If your worried about what it’s going to sell for you probably shouldn’t be buying them….

Just two left once there gone that’s all folks

I appreciate this interactive approach from Dave, he has to drum up business but also let us know that this is selling quick.
It also brings some drama for those of us who can't afford to buy. I have fomo and have looked at selling a kidney, but it would take too long for the funds to clear.

It’s only a pinball at the end of the day and they will appear on the second hand market a lot cheaper in the future, I wouldn’t worry about missing out :)

I'm driving myself insane. I keep watching the same videos over and over. The anticipation is killing me. It looks so freaking good.

Don’t get too excited it definitely isn’t the 2nd coming ! Dune is a better game
Bit early to make that call given how early and unfinished the code is and how little time anyones had on it but from what I've seen (atmospherically) it appeals to me way more than Dune and I love the Dune movies.

I appreciate the reality check though.
