What's best for cleaning dirty rubbers?

IPA cleans them in situ very effectively

Anything that removes dirt from rubber is removing/dissolving rubber. The dirt stuck on rubbers is generally dirty rubber, not much else bonds to it.

So in short, you can't clean rubbers you are just adding a chemical that will keep degrading the rubber until it breaks.

Much like using a wetwipe to clean a laptop and then a month later you wonder why the rubber keys are deforming.

Surely it would be mental to be replacing rubbers everytime they showed some dirt ?? Nobody does that do they?

I've used this on the white rubbers on my TZ when they've got a bit discoloured and it brings them back to perfect white.
