Stallball...
I don't want to cause any issues (it seems even innocuous comments can open cans of worms these days, sadly), and the following is purely my observation/feedback having just got back from the EPC in Austria, so thought I'd share my thoughts on it.
They held a fun stallball type event there on Labyrinth by Barrels of Fun, called BarrelBall.
There was a code version used, which is specifically set up for stallball, and it worked really well.
Basically a bunch of shots were highlighted in white, with one shot lit red. If you hit the red shot, or drained, the video screen lit up red with "Eliminated", and if you hit a white shot, the screen went blue indicating a successful shot. It was therefore really clear when you were out, or when you'd been successful and rejoined the end of the queue.
I've nothing against Twilight Zone, which I understand is the proposed machine for the stallball comp, and certainly don't want to kick off any controversy, but thought I'd just post the above as a positive contribution in case people weren't aware of this option on Labyrinth. I don't even know if there will be a Labyrinth at Pinfest, and stallball is always a fun part of Pinfest, regardless of what machine it is played on.
Cheers,
Conrad.
P.S. The EPC was absolutely brilliant, held in a massive venue (normally an ice-rink) in the small town of Vocklabruck, with loads of competition, 70 or so free-play machines including many unusual ones, and new machines including 3 x King Kong, Dune, Alice in Wonderland etc, good catering/beers, and even in the competitions, a really friendly atmosphere. Stefan Riedler and his team did an awesome job organising and running it.
