In Progress Tron mini shop

When test fitting the new metal apron I noticed there was a gap, not big enough for the ball to pass through but could possibly stop a slow moving ball.
So I sourced some brushed steel angle.
Cut and drilled and fixed in place making a small recess for the trough led strip cable.
Test fitted the metal apron and much better.
Found some screw in posts, cut and drilled some old plastic post sleeves and fitted them to apron so I can fix the apron flashers to them as I didn’t want to fix them to the apron.
Also added some cable clips so no cables hanging around to potentially get trapped.

Final test of speaker lights and apron flashers and that’s it for this weekend.
Definitely light at the end of the tunnel 😜

Looks great! I have a soft spot for Tron!

I might have missed it, but are you using an LED Tube to replace the regular tube?
Thanks but no, it’s a normal tube.
I had a Tron LE before and put an led board in that did light effects etc but I quite like the 3D translite with a normal tube and no flicker

Had an hour after work before it got dark and really pleased I managed to finish the scoop lighting.
One of the most useful Tron mods, the scoop lights green when the Flynn insert is lit so you know the scoop is ready and more importantly it now flashes purple prior to launching the ball, which makes a huge difference.
Not my idea but saw other Trons with it on so made sure I came up with my own version.
The list of things to do is getting shorter now for sure 😊

Lockdown receiver had some corrosion and although all the stickers were ok it would have been difficult to clean without damaging them so removed the receiver, removed stickers and cleaned then refitted.
Shooter housing also needs doing so just ordered a complete replacement.
The 2 lockdown catches are also corroded so removed them for cleaning.
Too many mods ??? I’ve run out of 12v power so ordered a 12v 5a PSU from Amazon for £10 with free next day delivery.
Always use these as they have over current and short circuit protection.
Made a simple 3 connection loom as I will use it to send 3 x 12v up to topper.
Removed the service outlet box and wired in some mains flex off the switch, and fixed PSU in place so it comes on when the machine is switched on.
Tested and powered up ok.

Made a cable to connect the switch I added to 3 target drop bank to the recogniser, the 2 discs on the topper and the new PSU.
So now when the drop bank comes down to start disc mb the recogniser lights and the 2 discs on the topper light.
The main topper sign stays on when machine is turned on.
Once the light cycle is finished that will light during light cycle mb, but I’ve designed it to be plug in so I can add the light cycle later.
Mirror blades fitted then the sun went down 😂

Quick test
1st pic is target bank up which is normal position.
2nd pic the target bank has lowered and the recogniser above the target bank has illuminated as well as the discs on the topper.
Worth the effort, well I think so 😂

Both ramps stripped, cleaned all flashers and switches, fitted new cliffys and bike mount plastics by @collywobbles.
Forgot to take pic of right ramp lol 😂
Fitted 2 new beer seals to lockdown bar and a Titan lockdown receiver finisher to the lockdown receiver which I always do as they’re far better than the stock decals

Looks lovely! Great job!

What’s the plan, is it a keeper?
Unfortunately not,
Can only have 1 pin so will play it a bit and then get something else on my list.
Still have the light cycle to finish to go on the topper but that shouldn’t take long.
I know it’s my pin but it really is stunning, I’ve lost a load of balls just looking at the light show lol 😂
