Today I worked on......

I don’t think it ever throws it right round more of a trickle in to the pop bumper s I remember playing Jim’s new out of the box in 2007 and we both commented on it you could put a more powerful coil on it if you wanted

Decided that today was the day to make Iron Maiden less scarey, seeing is how it is now a Disco Maiden.

So the first job was to get rid of this unpleasant fellow:

IMG_3700.jpg

He's a really ugly cyborg, and he doesnt quite fit the disco theme. So off he came off his mount:
IMG_3701.jpg

Rifled through my Barbie doll collection and came up with a perfectly proportioned replacement, so in the vice she went:

IMG_3702.jpg

Time to drill her from the rear:

IMG_3703.jpg

And then attach her to the mounting bracket
IMG_3704.jpg

and put her in the game
IMG_3706.jpg

The perfect fit... and much prettier than the ugly cyborg.
IMG_3705.jpg

Now, what to do with the hideous crouchy thing on the left of the left ramp?

IMG_3707.jpg

Another delve into my Barbie collection, and it seems Disco Barbie with a slit mini skirt will be the perfect fit:

IMG_3708.jpg

I love how her hair matches the purple lighting... That's much better!

is that my old IMDN Prem? I admit the game didn’t really do it for me as it was a hype purchase BNIB that never hit the spot but weirdly the music kinda grew on me.
So the two things I actually liked about this pin have been stripped away altogether. The look and the music.
OMG welcome to my pinball hell.

😱 don’t tell me next on your list you are looking at changing out the translite for a custom Disco Maiden version to match your modded Barbie Maiden pin

My eyes, my eyes!!!

I think I’m gonna end up mentally scared for life! There are somethings that can never be unseen.

Display on my Robocop has been fading away after 45 mins or so, not worn out as it was good when cold.
Another hack like on the mpu board to deal with, so on the power supply board I changed two resistors but it was the 2 diodes D6 & D8 that was the problem.
Pic is before I replaced them, not pretty even with a bit of green!
Displays are like new now, very bright and solid. I really didn’t want to spend £200 on led displays.
Hard to take a good pic of display but it’s perfect even brightness.

Not happy with the quality of the 7 segment led displays. they don’t put out a very even light. Back to search for some better ones at a reasonable price. ......

Today I fitted a new custom apron to my Alien. This was made by a chap over on pinside with some help from our very own @Vimtoman

It’s a huge improvement over the original which has always bugged me for being off centre.

This new version has loads of lightning effects tied into the game logic. You get front facing strobes for xenomorph activity and the weapon ready light is now much more visible facing you. The Alien logo and a number of effects which can be random or set to a certain one. It’s simply stunning and finishes the game off perfectly. It even has a nice recess to mount the motion tracker mod.

Gorgeous mate

Today I got around to fitting my custom Donut Shop (powered by the MadNat Feed Frenzy Power and LED driver board) to my HS2 restore project.

Big thanks to @Colywobbles for his patience, creativity and big heart, for helping me bring a Fusion360 3D model into the real world, with his Laser Cutter. The etched brickwork is all his idea and skill. Take a look at the end result here:

If you havent seen the board already - checkout this more detailed demo video, which shows how LED's can be configured via WiFi from your mobile phone or a web page:

The board is available for sale in the Classified Section Find that ad here, or via @James Pinball Bazaar

More projects powered by the Feed Frenzy LED driver board coming soon - keep an eye open for them.
