The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Interesting how history is written.

After allegedly receiving so many yellow cards I consulted VAR

Hearing that long standing members are leaving because of me and not because they are hypocrites who moan about high prices but then sell at high prices has taken a heavy impact on my soul on that basis I will no longer post to the forum. I know MANY of you will cry into your glass of beer but I think its for the best.

I'd like to thank @Paul for running a great place (and I thought the classifieds were awesome btw :D ).

The laugh button is mightier than the sword.

Neil.
It's for the best @Neil McRae .

You do some good stuff. But the forum was a better place before you got involved and I don't see you changing.

Guys its a big shame its ended up like this, remeber we all like pinball and that's what the forum is about, to have a decent forum you need all types of member from the outspoken to the lurkers, yes i have noticed some comments that have taken things bit to far but if we weren't chatting about that then we wouldn't really be taking about much at the moment as we are in a weird place where even the more fortunate are starting to feel that things are out of hand cost wise. price and value are two different things and both vairy for everyone. id suggest everyone just has a few weeks away to get the pinball mojo flowing again - in a good way for everyone.

This is madness.

I hope this is a joke Neil, as I read it to be.

For what it's worth, in my opinion, Neil has perhaps been the most positive thing to happen to the community in many years. He has done so much good for the UK scene.

Yes he pushes people's buttons, intentionally. Yes he is outspoken and loves sharing his opinion. But it's only ever an opinion, those who read it as fact are a little naïve.

Neil takes a hammering from a bunch of people, but clearly has thick skin and gives a bunch back. So I'm sure he doesn't need me to post this (all is fair in love and war), but I wanted to.

Let's all just chill out a little and enjoy the hobby for what it is

I know @Neil McRae can wind up people at times and has a habit of attracting controversy but in all honesty I don’t think he is being malicious the majority of the time but simply has his tongue placed firmly in his cheek When posting! It kinda reminds me of my old dad who won the **** stirring spoon year after year at out local Workman’s Club but he was sadly missed when he passed away and testament to this fact was the massive turnout at his funeral.

ive only met Neil once when collecting the group glass buy but in all honesty he came across as a great chap and very hospitable showing both me and @Sutol around the club even during this mad pandemic. Oh and he even mentioned not to take him at face value on the foums as he was a bit of a wind up merchant.

Time will tell if we miss Neil’s posts but my moneys on someone along the lines of Meil NcCrae joining some point soon.

Yup, there's a lot of Snowflakey behaviour recently ⛄

Neil McRae If you have really left then I think the forum will be a better place. Sometimes, without realising it your comments could cut deep. I was like you once and I blame earning good money and managing a large team who rarely answered back. I, like you became a **** to others who didn’t agree with everything I said. I stoped thinking about about other peoples feelings, I was totally caught up in my own world. If someone said something I didn’t agree with I would be horrible to them, it was my way or the highway. Luckily I had good people around me and I suspect you do to. BUT you need to let them in. Listen to them. Before you say something or post something, think is this going to hurt their feelings or ruin their day and if it is, simply don’t say/write it.

Trust me, being nice is 100% better!

Neil has a job other than playing the pantomime villan on forums is the thing that has shocked me the most. I want his job, I don't know how anyone working full time can post so much stuff 😉
Pinball seems to like a pantomime villan, look at Kaneda, there should be a Twippy for biggest forum troll 🤣 It's not going to be the same place without being berated for selling a Wonka.

@Paul can you organise a vote on this like with the classifieds. I vote we keep @Neil McRae , I thought he was the forums Trump mascot, ridiculous views, unashamedly opinionated and terrible hair( last one just conjecture). But always entertaining, if viewed objectively ,and lots of pinball universe info, can even forgive him for his love of Star Wars.

I'm really not enjoying this. We've been here before haven't we?

So far as I'm concerned @Neil McRae is a decent guy. Some of his opinions give me the hiccups but it's actions that count. He does a lot for this community and so far as his views on over-pricing go, he does as he speaks - I'm sure I remember him selling pins at very fair prices.

I’ve not been on the site very long but I think it needs honest harsh opinions such as Neil’s.. you don’t have to agree with it and I think some people are misinterpreting his sense of humour you see it all the time in the building trade I don’t believe there’s any malice. Neil put a laughing face on my ghostbusters for sale post. I’m not sure if that was because of the price or how beautiful it was with the custom armour 😁. But I got the price I wanted in less than a week so it’s just an opinion. I also have to agree I preferred the new classifieds given time for people to accept it I believe it was a better platform moving forward.

How is it that I'm logging on a Sunday morning and again reading that some huge s*** storm has blown-up on here again on a Saturday nigh?

I just don't understand some users mindsets on here sometimes. Respond to each other respectfully at all times, accept alternative views (regardless if they differ from your own) and if need be use the report button if someone has over stepped the line and let the moderators decide whether a comment is inappropriate or not.

It isn't too difficult to be civil to one another is it?

Let's never speak of new classifieds ever again, it all nearly ended in tears 😄.
Is that not partly the issue here though 😂 the people who run the site obviously put a lot of time into try improving it going forward and rather than applauding there efforts all anyone did was slag it off. Obviously it was partly due to the fact that there were two different platforms especially checking for older prices but given time I’m sure it would have worked. They didn’t pack up the site and take there ball home because of other peoples opinions which is how it should be but I think it needs fresh ideas.

**** me... you can tell it's a Saturday night again...... Getting REALLY sick of this...

If you dont like someone, or dont like what they say, then you can ignore them... all you have to do is hover over their username and hit "ignore"...
I really feel for you.

Must be how primary school teachers feel.

can recommend this book to everyone:

Best tell @Calimori that as well then

Someone asked a question and @Neil McRae answered and he was set upon

But one thing is for sure a lot of people came and supported him, he's done a fair lot more for pinball and events in the UK then most people...

If it wasn't for people like @Neil McRae and @Wayne J there wouldn't be many events and socialising going on.

Doesn't matter is someone is longstanding or not, doesn't mean squat apart from the bias the mods show them

If people haven't figured out @Neil McRae sense of banter now beats me, its pretty clear its not done in a malice manner... Just old school banter like @AllstarDK pointed out.

Another Sunday morning. Another car crash thread 😢

Neil likes to push people for a reaction. I’m 99% certain he doesn’t believe most of what he says but he wants people to push back.

in person he’s actually very generous with his games, his house and his time.

I’ve never asked him about why he chose to raise money for autistic kids but it’s clearly a cause close to his heart. I think that is actually a better representation of the real man than a post about the price of a TAF/Tom

besides he’s half right. I sold my TOM for 2k and was lucky to get every penny for it. One of the most over rated games out there 😉. He’s wrong about TAF though 😀
