Does anyone in the uk sell these? Need new rubbers and thought I'd give them a try. Everywhere I've found are in the states and want silly postage for what they are.

Yeah I made an order from pinball life in the us, and got a bunch of super bands as part of that. All sold now though.

Hello Stan,
thanks for the link to my shop.

Maybe some more information are helpful. I‘m official importer of Super-Bands in Europe and have all available products in stock. The picture shows all products available out of polyurethane (not rubber).

If you want to read more about the characteristics of Super-Bands, then you can find a nice description here:
http://www.marcospecialties.com/pin...ility-pinball-flipper-bands-from-jcs-pinball/

Maybe you already read the comment from Steve Ritchie about Super-Bands and the new Start Trek pinball machine from Stern.
...
There are some great new urethane post, mini post and flipper rubbers (Super Bands) available from Marco that are super durable and provide great rebound. They are manufactured by C.U.E. led by Joe Scalleta, and come in a full range of colors and styles. I wish I knew about them and not sure they were even available before ST production; I would have specified them on all models. They show no wear at all after hundreds of fun plays in my testing.

The material is a little more tricky putting it on the flippers. Find some videos here

and here

Hello Paul,
I think it was difficult to guess ;). You have nice and hard to see avatar .

Maybe some more helpful infos and the answer to "Super-Bands sellers in UK". There are only two official importer in Europe. One in France (http://www.zpeakabonks-pinball-paradise.com) and me. All others are resellers and I think they don't have all products, but please check on your own.

If you only by normal, mini or narrow SBs and need parts that I don't have, please check also my competitors to save shipping costs :).

Hi RudeDogg1,
I think an explanation on my own in English would exceed my written English capabilities :(, but I found a quite good comparison that helps to understand the pros and contras of both materials. Reading is more easy then writing ;).

This article with some history:
http://upcommons.upc.edu/pfc/bitstream/2099.1/19487/2/Anexo IV.pdf

and a video:

The only disadvantage of PU is heat, but this we rarely have in a pinball machine that it will harm the Super-Bands (except it burns down ). Using the material is something like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

By the way, round one week ago I get back a machine after 2.5 month with white SBs. The statistics said aprox. 3000 balls an I could not really see a wear off. The pictures are after cleaning the SBs and without turning. The seem to take a little bit of the dirt that get a little into the material. I think for home used only machines they will last a least 5 to 10 times longer. But this is only an assumption. There are more machine in pubs for test an of course I will go on testing the material on my own.

Great product if you like the white ones i have on my Whitewater, they didn't last to long with the normal flipper rubbers but I am looking forward to installing the superbands on the machine. They will be staying white for a great while longer, happy days.

Sorry, I forget to mention. If you order something in US you also can buy it here:

http://www.marcospec.com/control/keywordsearch;?SEARCH_STRING=super-bands
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&mode=search&search_in=all&search_str=Super-bands
This are also official seller.

Beside the material capabilities, they also look more nice that the traditional rubber :D (my personal opinion) .

I'm bad in judging colours, so find many examples here:
http://www.pinnin.de/en/Pinball/Categories/Super-Bands/Super-Bands-examples/

If a picture is missing with Super-Bands that you have, I lucky to get a picture from you that I can use . You also can get a link like shown with the examples.

@PinNin.de

If you want a Real test then feel free to send some samples to @SOUTH COAST SLAM or @GrizZ - I'm sure they won't mind installing a few in one of the machines in the South coast Slam (UK show happening in a month in Worthing, UK). Approx 100 machines on site, 2 days solid play by the public and collectors - would also be a good showcase for the product in Europe (There are quite a few guys from Europe coming for the tournament as well). Best part - it's all for Charity, and would give the pinball community here in the UK a good chance to play and see what they are like :) The more people that use them, the more likely people are to buy them from you :) (www.southcoastslam.co.uk)

Just a suggestion ;)

Might try some on my next machine

On more thing. If you want to use PayPal, you will not find a PayPal button.

In case you choose PayPal payment you have transmit the money directly by using following steps. The reason for this is that I doesn't like to have a third party in between the payment transaction.
1. Login to PayPal.
2. Choose send money.
3. As recipient choose the PinNin sales email address "sales (aet) pinnin (dot) de" and enter the amount that may have to be paid.
4. Press send.

How about some discount for forum members ? Say anyone who buys so many gets a free pair of flipper rubbers ?
I for one would be interested in buying a few sets for my machines.

Too late, already ordered 3 sets. Although i was told i would get some samples sent with them which im actually quite excited to see what arrives.lol.

Will post my opinions on here when ive had a few games out of them.

I have had them for awhile now. overall pretty good, play like black rubber. less bounce than the coloured ones, definitely grip better, so more control and they looks the Dogs tits too.

I have standard red's on pretty much all my tables. I hate superbands and even worse funny colored rubber (blues and greens seem to bounce the ball halfway back up the table)

They all throw me off my game and I can't catch the ball.

As superbands are getting more and more popular, I have ordered myself a set to try one of my machines, to force myself to get used to them.

If you can't beat em, join em

Hi replicas,
I think you are a good business man :). If I would do so, then people in the German forum will ask me maybe many questions ;).

Maybe worth a thought. Super-Bands least maybe 10 times longer, look nicer, and have better behaviour. The price is similar like coloured rubber, isn't that well-priced?

Thanks Carl Spiby: Forget also to tell you, all colour have the same behaviour, so possible to mix them up. Most people judge them between black and red hardness of normal rubber, maybe a little more to the red.

@ Paul: Get in contact with GrizZ.

Worth a try.
I will still be ordering some for my machines from your site.

Ok guys, received them yesterday, so considering I only ordered them mid week, they came super fast. Also got my new soundboard at the same time so installed them both and tested out the superbands. Also I got some freebies thrown in, 1 standard flipper rubber, 2 different size post sleeves and 2 different post rubbers.

First impressions, I actually really liked them, I had black rubbers fitted before and these seemed harder than them. It felt like the flippers had more power, I guess due to better energy transfer because of the minimal compression of the rubbers. Also found catching the ball easier and shots seemed more accurate, but that could just be down to me having a good game yesterday.

They do act differently, overall I liked them, I imagine if you had soft rubbers they will feel very different, especially on flipper bounce over which almost feels like it won't make it over because of the lack of bounce.
