i'd be interested to hear the plan about the playfield. My Vector has similar wear and I haven't got a clue what to do with it!

I waited and waited a few years with mine, and was lucky enough to get a decent one, from someone who was breaking a space invaders pin, luckily it had been clearcoated in the past, which saved major wear,I sold my old one crappy one for wall art after I stripped it for spares

Did martin deliver this ? he had one on the back of the van last week
Yep. He picked from Scotland last week.

@domlouis I've got and overlay from the US and protector from Germany, so that's my plan. Should extend HUO life by another 20 years. Plastics and posts are ok.

I need to read the restoration review of redoing the cab with the stencil kit. While I have the PF over the summer I might aim to stencil. Comets will go in and some additional lighting too.

Not expecting to power up until the end of the summer at the earliest.

Big reveal...... hmm sold as working by a UKVAC member....
I have a spare lamp driver!

that looks like an aftermarket mpu board so not all bad,I take it this was the one jonbud was selling?

if it any consolation, my star trek has the same chocolate block connection at the mains filter, back in the day, they used to go bad and the company I worked for at the time did this type of thing, it made it easier to swap out on a service call.
Nice anti tamper on-off switch(!), but what is going on with those rectifiers!!

Had a bit of time out. Work getting in the way at the mo. Mostly stripped now.
I'll catch up when I have my two week self isolation.

that rectifier board is an aftermarket replacement as well, looks like it blew a rectifier and had a bodge replacement though,it does not seem to be mounted on anything either, which is not ideal at all

Yep. It will all be coming out over the next few months!

Working from home does help with pinball prep! Inserts cleaned and refitted, sanded down, overlay on and protector just to check.
The overlay came from the US and some notes from others about the quality. I'm 97% happy with it. There are a few bubbles that appeared when putting it down but now its cooler its tightened up mostly. With the playfield protector on it will look OK I think.

Is it missing the lamp driver board ?

These tend to be quite reliable and they do come up on ebay if you need to strip one for parts

be careful when you put the playfield posts back on,if you over tighten them, you may get wrinkles in the overlay

Missing one yep by the looks of it. I've got a spare from Elektra but not check if it's the same spec.

My Pinball Center delivery arrived this week.

Coils are replaced. The original were well lubricated with some unknown product.

Thought I would make a start on on posts and rails and surprised how far I got this afternoon.
