So what's your favourite and least favourite translite?

Hey guys

Was looking on ebay the other day and see someone selling translates and thought a few were rather nice.
Some have a lot of detail and thought, whilst others looked more like last minute.

So just wondering which ones you liked and disliked the most.

For starters then; Nice artwork, Star wars (DE), Indi Jones (W) Checkpoint

Least favourite, Demo Man, LAH , Shadow to name a few. You guys carry on :)

Yes, have to agree, WW is rather cool,has lots of atmosphere about it and shows exactly what the game is about.
Yea/no about Flintstones,dunno about that 1. Its almost there but lacking something. Playfield however is awesome imo :)
 
TAF & Creature are great.
LOTR is good until you see the "hair dick" then you can't ever miss it again (thanks Ive)
AFM is good (but the playfield drawing of the woman has been done by a 14 year old)

Dreadful - Demo Man (Didn't realise it was meant to be Sandra Bullock), LAH (why why why make arnies head so ****ing big?), TOM (Wife took one look at it and asked why the poor woman had no nipples). Ripley's (let's stick 100000000 things on it). Anything that dick did for Data East and boasted about it on Youtube

And to prove that we all have different tastes I really hate WMS IJ. Why are his eyes different levels? And my personal bugbear why on earth on the playfield is the nazi officer Chinese?

Still think if Stern actually bothered to employ someone who really knew how to use photoshop the overall affect who be so much better than handrawn stuff but instead it now tends to be bad cut and paste for both backglass and playfield.
 
Cant pick a favourite, but it's either Big Guns or BOP. Both examples of pure pinball art madness.

Worst.... pick any 80's grotlieb.

One of the only sys 80b ones I actually like - Frank n Pin even had a new one fitted!

Tho the winner of the worst ever can only be Tx Sector - what a complete and utter load of ****e - looks like it is water damaged and faded.

NEARLY as bad - Torpedo Alley and Raven

TX Sector is a bad one you are right there, but the alternative translight for TX is one of the best I have seen. So its a win win situation.
 
I love creatures backlight. And MB is gourgous

But I hate so many. Coming from a design backround I see some stuff that makes me cringe. Anything that's either too busy or some giant heads are the worst. Demo man and the shadow come to mind. Even though I love the games

Very true Jack, but I think the biggest head award has to go to " The Last Action Hero" big f... off Arnie head staring at you,just horrid :)
 
Yeah Arnie does take it to a new level now. At least his head on the translight is a 1:1 scale of his head in reality

Nope,just cos a game is good,does not make the camp as fook artwork look ok!

Torpedo Alley looks like some badly made porn adverts. "Don't bend over like that or you will get hit by my Torpedo", "Ah Captain".
 
Definitely a lady boy thing going on there. It's obvious it's a guy,she's ugly :D

Never even heard of Raven but DAMN!!!! this 2 machines need to be in my lineup,working or not :p come to think of it,be cheaper just to buy the translate :rolleyes:
