Just got home after another amazing tournament at The Pinhaus. My trophy haul is growing 🙂.

Thank you so much to @Lecari and @David_Vi for putting on a fantastic tourney. Such a fun, friendly, sociable event, I absolutely love playing there.

Player of the day for me was @OTRawrior Reece qualified in 2nd place and straight into the final, an amazing, well deserved achievement. And his veggie chili was also pretty special 👍.

It was amazing to play against @PUP again, just watching him play is an education. Take care driving home mate. What a day, exhausted, now a beer 🍺

My most favorite day at pinhaus so far, and they’ve all been great.
Thanks David and Claire for your hospitality, and running a flawless comp.
Well done to all the finalists, and Andy for the win ( the boy is good😜)
Great to meet some new people, and catch up with others
Had tons of fun today, roll on the next one
Oh by the way, did I mention I beat Andy foster ! 🤣😜

Huge thanks from me too. My first time at a comp outside of pinfest, and I absolutely loved it. Definitely more chilled and relaxed. Really big thanks for organising it and inviting us all into your home. I'll definitely want to come to the next one! Thanks to @MajesticPinball too for providing games for the event. I'll always love getting a chance toplay these Gottliebs!

Another top tier day run by David and Claire, for me the most fun tournaments around, thank you guys!
Although he wasn't just there to fix things, we shouldn't forget @MajesticPinball James' efforts in keeping the games ticking over.

I had a great time in my first final, @PUP AFM masterclass, and @AndyB putting in consistent great games under the pressure - a real deserved win. Not to mention him and David battling through the quarters and semis to get there, well played guys!

Also musn't forget the cliffhangar ending where AndyB only won the tournament with the bonus from the final ball of the final game, whilst on a double danger warning. Can't get a much tighter ending than that!
It was even tighter, as his end of ball bonus counted up to 15m, I thought he’d missed it, then a fraction of a second later “3X” !!! that got AndyB over the line. really close

It was crazy, thought I'd blown it. So relieved to get my first (and probably only) tourney win. @PUP is such a gent as well.
Was good to meet you and have a chat @Martywolfman

BROCKTASTIC!! Well done @AndyB - following along and seeing you had started the frenzy with 10 straight wins was ridiculously impressive. Well done mate, absolutely superb. Andy F, Reece, David - congrats as well on reaching the final. :) Sounds like another superb Pinhaus event! @Lecari @David_Vi

Very many thanks to David and Claire for anotehr really enjoyable and day of pinball with great cheesecake as ever. Agree with others that it's of one of the most chilled evens which is even more impressive given that it's a Flip FRENZY!

Great to catch up with some of the locals and see some new faces.

Wow, @AndyB, very welll done  When I left and saw the game choices I thought Andy Foster was a strong favourite and indeed thought that he had won when people commencted earlier on Andy. Well played and well deserved especially ater starting off with 11 straight wins! I think you must have been destined to win (which occassionally seems to be the case in pinball) after hearing above about the bonus in the final game and after the close game in the semi too.

Despite coming out on the wrong side of that result, really enjoyed the excitment and tension in that game. If only the ball had gone in the hole once out of the 3 attempts on that last ball, I could have got you! I played a game immediately afterwards and of course, my first two skill shots when straight in! Still great fun:D

Thanks again to all
Greg

11 straight wins? Following last week's performance? Sounds like someone sold their soul to the devil :). Congrats Andy, clearly you're on fire atm 👏👏

I thought it was @PUP all the way as well. He put over 7bil on AFM and I scraped 3rd. I then had a pretty good Junk Yard, and it came down to Road Show. I was very lucky, including in the semi. Absolutely delighted to win, felt like a 5yr old at Xmas

Just wanted to add our thanks to Claire and David as well for a great day. Really relaxed and was lovely to catch up with everyone.
We’ll done to David, Reece and Andy F and a massive well done to Andy B on his win 👏👏👏
Thanks also to Reece for the chilli and both Claire’s for the chocolate bites and cheesecake 😋😋😋
Diane and Clive

As usual I'm on my post event come down where you are still coming to terms with spending weeks of worrying about little details, trophies, food, games working and more, it becomes my sole focus and then just like that it's done!
I have to adjust my mindset to a new purpose 😄
Plus the mental exhaustion of it all being a bit of an introvert 😁

So I'll try share a few thoughts!

As always thanks to the amazing UK Pinball scene, I'm really proud our little ex council semi has been the home for an event that brings all corners of the community together, the veteran competition players, the local folk who have been into pinball for years but don't frequent competitions, friends of ours who were introduced to pinball by Claire and I and surely the underdog of the day, Martin Roddam!

Just a quick word on Martin incase you didn't get to chat to him. Back in 2014 I started on the railway, training to be a driver, Martin started on the same day and we were on the same course, then we went our separate ways to different depots so we rarely see each other in person at work. We'd catch up via text occasionally then only a couple years ago I mentioned pinball, turns out Martin had played a lot in his youth but hadn't since. Twice or three times a year he comes over to the Pinhaus and we have a day of pinball and pizza. He doesn't own any pins but has borrowed my Jurassic Park since it was fixed a month ago and has come to PBR a couple of times.
I am really proud of how well he played, being at the top of the standings all day, getting screwed by Arena in the semi…
I think he fit in well and I think made new friends.

Usually I have the million skillshot on Arena blocked, which makes you play the game differently, I was surprised when @PUP said it should be open and democracy won. I think the semi final would have been different with it blocked, it does create some excitement but grinding the same two shots over and over just feels wrong, but at the end of the day it went in my favour!

Despite coming out on the wrong side of that result, really enjoyed the excitment and tension in that game. If only the ball had gone in the hole once out of the 3 attempts on that last ball, I could have got you! I played a game immediately afterwards and of course, my first two skill shots when straight in! Still great fun

I was really surprised you voted to keep that skill shot open before we started, any regrets? 🤣

A huge thanks to @MajesticPinball & @AlanJ for helping fix games the night before, even though it was in vain as both the games got taken out for different reasons on the day.
@MajesticPinball for being able to fix faults under pressure, (something I struggle with in the chaos of the event). Without James the day would have been a near disaster.
We had a transistor blow on Diner at 11pm the night before! And a display on Space shuttle fail shortly after!
Obviously thanks to @Lecari and her best friend Jupiter for helping run the comp and get the food sorted.

We had more faults than ever before, I was gutted both the Zacs were taken out, especially as James managed to fix space shuttle after the event, so it was something really silly🤦🏻‍♂️ we got by, I suppose it shows 24 players and 10 machines working is the bare minimum.

Huge congratulations to @AndyB @PUP and @OTRawrior for their playing in the finals. Reece put in a great performance though the day and I loved to see a continuation of the battle of the Andys.

Too much to say 😁

Another thing,

I couldn't find my multimeter last night, I don't know if anyone saw it laying about?, James and I searched high and low for it once everyone was gone.
Very strange. I suppose I'm due a new one.

I bet it’s inside diner or something
After that it was used for was fixing a display on space shuttle but in the utility room. I went to bed and I think James used it to fix something else but he's sure he left it in the utility room.

I'll check the games again today 😄
