I'm trying to remove hex-headed screws from Alien Poker and the heads of the ratchet-headed screw kit are too big to fit the space between the screw, and the metal lane guide (pictured).

Wondered if anyone had any advice?

You need this set. Really useful and I have used mine loads.

Draper 82399 Security Screwdriver Bit and Driver Set (45 Piece) Black and Silver https://amzn.eu/d/gPfgDIS
I've got that set. It's not really working for these hex screws :(

I've just tried a mini-spanner set and got one hex screw out, but there isn't much horizontal clearance on some of the screws - hence why I was trying to use a ratchet set (I also currently have half-inch artificial nails, which I'm sure isn't a problem you gents experience ;) ).

I assume the fittings go into the hex head? You just cannot get the purchase on them to move? If so, you could buy longer hex head screwdrivers.

Yes, they fit, but I can't get purchase on them. I think the inside of the screw is a bit corroded (the whole pin looks like it was used as an ashtray by a group of VERY heavy smokers) and it's easier to grab them from the outside.

Good idea, thanks!

Good luck! It’s very frustrating when you have a screw that won’t budge, I think most of us on here have been there!

As somebody wrote above, bit holders fit the head and don't expand out like your sockets do - you can also buy nut spinners which will work nicely.

A box spanner with tommy bar might move it.

Thank you! The smallest size of box spanner in a kit I got from Amazon.co.uk got out the screw 🥰
